These are all glass beads. Some of the beads have paint or acrylic coating on them, which may confuse some people. The easiest way to tell if beads are glass or plastic is to drop a bead in water. Glass beads are much heavier than plastic and they sink like a stone.

Q: Where are these beads manufactured?

These beads come from several sources, but most of the are probably made in China. I hand sort and package the bead assortments, and I'm always looking for unique and beautiful beads to add to the mix.

Q: If you order more than one package, will each one be different?

They will be similar but not exactly the same.

Q: What's the approximate count in this assortment? I'm looking to do a project in the classroom and we'll need about 550 beads.

I'm not sure--was never good at guessing the jellybeans in the jar! There are a lot but I would guess it's not 550. You can contact the seller directly and ask though. They are a good mix of beads so it's worth asking.
