Good product high price
The only downside was the price, which was much higher that it should have been, but that is how supply and demand works...

big disappointment
This is not a review on the product so much as the seller. My 12 year old son bought the game shark. He was so excited when it arrived quickly.Imagine his disappointment when it didn't work.I wrote to the seller received a prompt apology and was told the money would be returned. All that's great and much appreciated, but guess what? I am still waiting more than a month later. This is supposed to be a reputable seller. In my opinion that remains to be seen.

It's Okay But Game Shark Could've Done A Little Better.
Game Shark 2 for PS2 is okay, but not anything to write home about. If it were not for the game shark website then GS2 would basically be kind of useless. I was hoping for somekind of device to just attach to the back of the PS2 but instead we have a an attachment in a memory card slot and two discs which are a bit cumbersome to switch out everytime you want to play a game.

gameshark for playstation2
this is no good to the latest playstation2. if you have just got a playstation2 the ps2 gameshark disk won't work. you will have to also get the upgrade disk ... . you do need the gameshark "memory card" thing to make the upgrade disk work. stuck between a rock and a hard place. well worth it other than you feel like you have been ripped off when you get it home and it doesn't work. then you can make it work if you are willing to spend just a little more money. the reason is the sony changed the format on newwer ps2 systems so the original ps2 gameshark disk won't work. that's why you need the upgrade disk. marketing you have got to love it.

works great on Refurbished ps2
Well I have a Refurbished ps2. And so i bought GameShark2 version 1.3. Now alot of people say not to buy this item. But it has not damaged my ps2 and in no way messed with my ps2 wich I have had for 2 years now and I have had GameShark2 for about a year it has worked great. Mine is badly scratched from usage so it takes awhile to load now. In fact I have it running right now as I write this review. However I have taken GameShark over to a friends house and tried it on anon-Refurbished ps2 it does not seem to work there. But most of the things I can play on my ps2 will not work on my friends ps2. I have yet to try GameShark another non-Refurbished ps2. But I think if you have a Refurbished ps2 and still play it often then you should get this item. Several of my friends have changed their minds about GameShark. After playing a match with cheats on for the game StarWars Battlefront 2. They agree it is one of the better Cheating items out there. I have yet to update mine and I also think this is a great investment mainly if you get it from a GameStop or EB games, I got it for $20at GameStop. So that is my review good luck on buying the right item...

Game Shark 2
This is the GREATEST thing that was made for the PS2 theFirst review at the top says that you have to keep theHardware in the first slot to work but that's not true youcan put the Hardware in the 2nd slot and the memory card inthe frist slot and it almost never gets glity you should getthis. i have one myself its the best it comes with the hardwarea disc for the PS2 with LOTS of codes and anothor disc that has over 13,000 Playsation codes too its easy to load cheats and you don't have to typein the code just press x on the codesyou want and thats all that simple and when you want toadd a new code just press x on the game and go to add code and a keyboard will appear at your screen and will make it much easyier to type it in I will GARENTEE you will enjoy thisamzing thing ok when you get this amazing item put the hardware in the 2nd slot if you have a memory card then take the disc that says Paystation 2 and open press the button that will the drive tray and insert the discand press the reset butten after that you will be at the game shark mian menu then go to Game shark 2 codes and there will be a list of games pick the game you want to play then there will be a list of codes press x to the codes you want and press o two times go to start game and it will ask you if you want to play the game with codes or with out codes pick one then open your disc tray take out the disc and put in the game you wanted to play and press x and thats all you will find amazing things with GameShark 2and if you are a real gamer you will get this item so have fun with it!!!!!!

problems?
i've read alot of purchasers saying the gameshark 2 for the ps2 is a bad investment. if you asked me 2 years ago i would have agreed. through owning one original gameshark and all the version up grades (3 so far) i've found that it depends on both the version of your gameshark and your ps2. the first ps2 i bought died a year after i got it, i still don't know what happened but it wasn't the gameshark, it was hardware. the second one has last a year and is running great even with a gameshark plugged in all the time. be smart, read as much as possible on every purchase, and ask the people who own them and you can get the right information to figure out if this is an investment you're willing to make. point 1: the first two gameshark 2 versions were crap. the stalled out all the time, erased your memory card, and never played any code except the ones from the factory. version 3 was the first one with the keyboard and had absolutely no problems. point 2: the people that say the codes don't work now are using version 4 codes on a version 3 gameshark, more than likely. if you want something to stay away from i can give it, the non-sony memory codes are worthless, they will erase your memory when taken from their ports. there, i've given alot of ideas on what to do to keep your bum covered, have a great day.
