Not too bad. You can build a cheap, decent function generator.
Built a function generator with this chip. Using proper grounding and keeping lead-lengths in check, I got decent waves all the way up to 100kHz. There is a bit of distortion at the peaks of the sine and triangle waves which I could not manage to totally eliminate, as well as some harmonic distortion in the square wave at the crossover point which becomes evident at frequencies above 50kHz. I think there are more modern chips which might be higher quality. In any case, you can make a fairly accurate function generator with this 2206 with minimal parts. My nephew is using it as a FSK device for controlling a radio-control do-dad.
