Q: Can anyone confirm this reciever actually works with a PS5 for 4K/120hz pass through?

These units still haven't had HDMI 2.1 firmware yet, so they are limited to 2.0b, which has no HDMI 2.1 features at all. Yamaha also hasn't saids much to confirm about whether or no these units are affected by the panasonic chipset hdmi 2.1 issues and whether they can be worked around with software or not either. Everyone is simply waiting.

Q: Yamaha announced a program to fix the faulty hdmi 2.1 chips back in may. do these units have the fix?

As of November 2021, the unit CANNOT do 4K/120 unless Yamaha offers to swap the motherboard on the unit. The receivers are defective from manufacturing. Great receiver otherwise but it cannot perform as advertised as it is a flaw in the chip, which cannot be fixed by updating the firmware.

This unit does not have monitor out connection

Q: Whenever I connect a yaber pro y9 projector there's no sound coming out of the receiver, and the volume control freezes. Is there a solution for this?

Sound like a cable problem. Make sure the projector has a compatible HDMI cable or compliant to the receiver’s input.
