Ok i have been suffering from bv for a few months LUCKILY not years like some other reviewers on here! But it has been bad. 6 doctor visits, loads of prescriptions: internally and orally. All helped for a few days then BAM here it goes again and ESPECIALLY after having intercourse.. every single time after intercourse… the smell.. the burning. The uncomfortable feeling.. i started to think i had something else because i have had bv before and usually 1 boric acid treatment would knock it out but even days of that didn’t work.. so i was definitely scared, worried and exhausted… anyway after so much research i decided to try this product.. mainly because of the price as its wayyy cheaper than other brands with the same ingredients and i am not about spending a lot of money just for it to possibly not work.. but after 1 day.. itching, odor burning, discomfort was gone!! I used it for a full 3 nights then did 2 days of boric acid (if you don’t know about biofilm, look it up because that’s a lot of our problems especially recurring infections and prescription use) and another 3 days of this. I was finally feeling myself again… however… after intercourse i still get the odor, itching and discomfort but i have learned now that it’s just how it is (could be hormonal as i am reaching perimenopause) so after sex i insert one as i am going to bed and that knocks it out. Just for maintenance and prevention after intercourse, i use this.. and so far so good. Semen raises our ph and that messes things up down there if you’re already a sufferer of recurrent bv. So using this product which balances out ph is a godsend! I highly recommend this product because number one it does work and number two, the price point. No reason to spend extra money on other brands when this one works amazingly. I actually got a subscription because even when i am not having symptoms i really believe in maintenance. And for emergency cases i don’t want to run out and not have any on hand and have to wait for the mail to run in a day or two… Anyway, hope this helps someone and even better i hope your bv issues go away because it’s definitely a pain in the a.. A few notes… it is absolutely best to insert it and go straight to bed. The longer it stays in, the better. It does melt after about an hour and you don’t want the good stuff running out that quickly so going to bed so it sits in there longer is something i recommend. You will have discharge from the product in the morning but use a pad or something for about an hour.

TL;DR: These supplements are the only thing that has cured my BV after a decade. IF YOU SUFFER FROM REAL, DIAGNOSED BV, BUY THESE. THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Like many other reviewers here, I've suffered from recurring BV for years. I've run the gauntlet of doctors visits and rounds of antibiotics, which became an ongoing tennis match between BV and yeast infections. I tried waiting to see if things would just work themselves out on their own. I've tried all the home remedies -- garlic, apple cider vinegar, plain yogurt, hydrogen peroxide, etc. I even tried returning to the doctor out of desperation and to make sure I didn't have anything worse than BV, because my symptoms were so bothersome and painful. A round of oral metronidazole actually seemed to help for a few days, and didn't turn it into another dreaded yeast infection, but all the symptoms quickly came back along with my anxiety and shame. Over the last decade, the status down there seemed to cycle indefinitely between "somewhat less horrible" to "time to cement this thing off and cut my losses." Pain, burning, itching, grotesque amounts of goopy discharge... and the smell. Like an abandoned fish market. Like a Red Lobster from hell. It was often so bad that I could actually smell myself as I sat or walked, and I became mortified at the realization that other people had to smell it, too. I tried to wash as often as I could. I tried vaginal wipes, I tried soap, I tried no soap. I switched to unscented detergent for my clothes and stopped using dryer sheets altogether. Literally nothing I tried ever worked. Needless to say, the affects on my physical and emotional well-being have been devastating. BV has robbed me of years of healthy, satisfying relationships. I would avoid intimacy, which would create tension and resentment, which would lead to break-ups. I would go through bouts of avoiding dating altogether. It was ruining my life. Recently, out of desperation to not botch yet another budding relationship, I began to do more research online. This time I managed to discover a new possible solution: probiotics. I started out taking Rephresh Pro-B supplements. While they reduced my symptoms within a week, I could feel them coming back, albeit not as strong as before. Then I found these VH suppositories. I haven't stopped taking the Rephresh, but I wanted to bomb this thing from both ends to see if that sped things up. One day, ladies. One day. Literally overnight, my parts have been transformed. The smell was gone. GONE. The only discharge was some trickling remnants from the melted supplement. No itching. No pain. Day two. Hesitantly, I attempted intercourse (it had been a long time). I braced myself for the typical pain and burning I always experienced, and I was sure that the movement would unleash whatever smells and grossness that were hiding up in there. But... none of that happened. I almost cried afterward, because the pain and burning and smells I've dealt with for the last ten years were GONE. I had almost forgotten what it was like to have sex without pain and embarrassment. AFTER ONLY TWO DAYS!!!!!! The joy and relief I feel are indescribable. It works so well that I'm almost suspicious. This can't be real, right? HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY WORK SO FAST???? I'm not sure what satanic pact I unwittingly signed when I purchased this stuff, but if sending my soul off to eternal damnation in exchange for this mysterious sorcery is what has to be done, it's absolutely worth it. I don't care if I have to pop these suckers in every night for the rest of my life... they will have to pry these from my cold, dead vagina.

Getting old sucks and what’s worse is having “down there,” dry as the Sahara, burning, itching and nearing UTI level discomfort after sex. So much so that it almost ruins your relationship. I read the reviews here and while I wasn’t having the same issues with BV as other women with reviews here do, I desperately needed something to help with the moisture problem and to prevent any other issues. The other ladies here have raved about this stuff over several years so I thought I would give it a whirl. Wow. I must say I am super surprised, but this stuff is amazing. I used it in the middle of the day while I was doing housework and taking down the Christmas tree because I simply could not wait for relief and I am so impressed. Literally two hours is all it took for all my symptoms to start to disappear, and the UTI I felt coming on was gone by the evening. I just wore a panty liner to prevent any leaks and it was fine. I am never going to be without this product from now on and plan to recommend it to my perimenopausal friends, heck, all my friends! I just might buy stock in the company and sell it here too. 😆 This stuff is a God-send.

***UPDATE 12/02/17*** Im still going strong with these pills. While my habits as a child may have started the BV my periods are what’s throwing my pH out of whack and keeping the BV around. I put one in the last night of my cycle and one in the night after that and I’m great for the whole month. Im sure our true issue lie behind our heavy diet of unnatural and over processed foods, but these supposotories have made me feel normal and that’s something I haven’t been able to feel for nearly 20 years (I’m 27). These are great and for as long as they sell them and I need them, I will buy them. I don’t even take the other supplements/vitamins I mentioned in previous updates anymore. None of those are needed. Just these. This is NOT a one and done type of deal though. If that was the case it would come in packs of one. My suggestion would be to go to the doctor, get one more round of meds to clear everything out. On the last day of your meds, insert one of these and do that for 5-7 nights. If your cycle is your trigger, do what I do and insert one on the last day and one the day after. It actually helps pull any “leftovers” down instead of letting them linger around in there for hours (or days for some) before it all trickles down. It’s worth it. I only need them directly after my cycle, so until I figure out how to change the pH in my menstrual discharge or find a way to make my pump I’m less sensitive. I’m happy with this low maintenance remedy! Good luck to all! ***UPDATE 09/25/2017*** So far so good! I got the feeling that the BV was trying to flare back up after my cycle. By then I'd run out of Femdophilus (taking two a day) and I while I waited for a new order I just plopped in a BV Essentials suppository from the last day of my cycle (mostly spotting) til a few days after the end of it. Apparently my cycle IS my trigger, so I'll be using the suppositories for 2-3 after each cycle but it feels GREAT to be back to normal down there without having to run back to the doctor! I haven't even opened the other Femdophilus bottle, it's sitting in my fridge. I found that Zinc works just as well and it's cheaper, too! So I don't take the BV Essentials cranberry vitamins or the Femdophilus anymore, but I still take the Now Acidophilus and Zinc pills daily (one or two of each everyday). I haven't been entirely consistent with taking the supplements considering I often miss a couple days or more a week, but it hasn't made a difference because I'm still BV FREE! (08/14/17) I've had BV since I was about 6-7 years old, but I didn't know what it was until I was about 14. It's not directly my fathers fault, but I was raised by him as an only child and he never taught me that I needed to wipe front to back, so I was wiping back to front (because it was easier for me) until I had my first period on my 12th birthday while I was at my moms house. I remember her saying, "Don't forget to ALWAYS wipe front to back," Thanks mom, for deciding to teach me that 12 years into my life. Freaking Awesome. I'm 26 now and I only had treatment for it when I was 16 and it came back, but I just did things to hide the smell until I was 18 and could go to the doctor without a parent because I didn't want my mom or my dad thinking any less of me by taking me to a doctor for vaginal odor (I know it may sound silly, but I was a child, so I thought like one). I've tried every natural remedy and prescribed medication that I could find and nothing has kept BV at bay for long. If I did get rid of it, it would come back right after my period. I've gone to a vegetarian diet and that decresed the amount of discharge, but didn't rid me of the infection. So, I've come to the conclusion that I need extensive therapy with a mix of remedies over a decent period of time to keep it away and I've heard a lot of good things about Jarrow Formulas femdophilus, so hopefully it will work for me. I had a prescription for metronidazole to take three times a day for 10 days. I know it kills all the bacteria, so I came up with a plan. I just so happened to finish the last of my medication the day before my period l, so the next day (day 1 of cycle) I took two femdophilus pills and I will continue to take two every single day for about 6 months to keep the good bacteria in place. As soon as my cycle is over I'm going to start my VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories (I got the 15 pack), along with the VH Essentials Probiotics with Prebiotics & Cranberry pills once a day and the Now Acidophilus 2Billion pill once a day. A week after I run out of the suppositories I will start inserting a boric acid capsule once or twice a week (whichever I feel is needed), but DEFINITELY directly after my period, as I feel it could be throwing my pH out of whack. Boric Acid is something that I've tried before with great results, but I was trying it while I had an active infection. I doubt it will kill an active infection, so I assume it's best used as a preventative rather than as a cure. I know it sounds like a lot, but I've had this issue for about 20 years, so I'm willing to do whatever it is I need to do to feel normal. I will update my progress here and under the other products I have purchased through Amazon to keep any ladies in my position updated. Wish me luck! P.S. I do keep the bottle refrigerated because that's what the bottle says and I've heard over the years that products that require refrigeration work the best. UPDATE:: 9/11/17 This has definitely kept me regular after my period. I just got off my period again and I'm going to insert another tonight. So far so good! It's not a hassle and my husband understands that his semen could be throwing me off just as much as my period, so maybe 30mins after we've had sex (we are TTC) I wash off and insert one of these or a boric acid pill and go to sleep. I have to be diligent in making sure that I whatever MIGHT throw my pH out of whack will need to be followed up with an insert as precaution. Prevention is the best medicine.

Ok this is my 2nd time ordering! This product works! Let me explain.... Obviously if you are reading these reviews on amazon you are either a). a frustrated female who needs help, b.) is desperate for a clean feeling Vah-jayjay OR c). you are the man/husband of the female who needs this product and your trying to help her or yourself cuz this can seriously destroy her ability to be comfortable and secure with you in your private moments. LOL Let's cover what it does: 1. removes any and all odor. 2. Keeps the Vah-jayjay fresh and clean feeling and smelling even after washing. 3. Helps with discharge. (If ur unsure c a doctor) 4. Considerably helps with bacteria infections and works to maintain a 'healthy', 'balanced' environment as it relates to our girly parts. Best way to use: 1. after your evening shower (or just before you go to bed) insert 'up and into' your vah-jayjay. Push it waaaaay up in there. You want that good bacteria to get waaaaaay up in there so as to fully do it's work. Comes with an applicator but i got tired of washing the applicator after each use so i preferred to use my fingers and push it up in there, way up there ladies. Can't put enough emphasis on the 'waaaaaay' part! laugh ....seriously! 2. put a thin panty liner on and go to bed OR lay down for a long time. 3. You want the good bacteria to stay in there and do it's work while you sleep. yes it may leak out but only a little but who cares right. i make sure to turn on all sides except i'm not a back sleeper, so as to coat all sides fully during the night. 4. The liquid that comes out is like water, clear, non-smelling. The liner absorbs the liquid and by the morning time with your first pee of the day it's pretty much all out. You can remove the panty liner and go on about your day or replace it for a few hours if your want to feel safe. My experience: I will forever and always use this product. I get so annoyed and frustrated just thinking about how women are NEVER told about good bacteria and the need for it. The dr, nor gynecologist...etc. EVER discussed this with me. I had no clue to ask either. Good bacteria for our lady parts is SO IMPORTANT, infact .....required!!!! My struggle started when i was in my 20's with the dr telling me to wash better, REALLY!? how dumb is that ......obviously i'm coming to you for help because i already did that repeatedly!!! ....now what doc!? after many years of being annoyed and frustrated...... and giving up on every finding the solution. I stumbled upon this product, like you, reading reviews because i needed help for a bacteria infection i developed. Before reading these reviews i went online to get info/research on the issue and was horrified and depressed to read about the desperate women who suffer from constant problems with our girly parts, for years, mind you. So i knew i had to BE SMART and find the SOLUTION because i wasn't willing to suffer from a bacteria infection again. (My husband also was so sensitive in helping me so he looked in medical books about bacteria infections...etc. He's so sweet! .......Not in 'manly feminine' way - it was more of a....... 'manly .....let me help YOU, help ME honey!' kind of way cuz it affected him too!) Laugh! How I personally use this product: while i was using monostat to get rid of my hot as FIRE, ITCHY, vah-jayjay symptoms! ...not kiddin' (i can laugh about it now but it wasn't funny then). I inserted one every night for a week. A reviewer posted some good tips on using it at night which i readily applied and will speak to below. Within that time ( a week) not only did the infection go away but the smell was gone. What!? noooooohhhh.......WHAT!!!!???? ....are you kidding me, ....wow! i was floored. and i mean the smell was gone for days after i stopped using the product. So with my main goal accomplished - which was to get rid of the bacteria in-balance, which cleared up the infection. I was ecstatic and empowered to perform some tests with the product. My 2nd goal was to test this out more thoroughly. So!..... i knew that if i stopped using the product my vagina and all it's parts would quickly get out of balance and an over growth of some type of bacteria would return. That's just natural fact and i get that! But i wanted to know for how long could i go without taking the product before i started to smell again. With the help of my husbands feedback in conjunction with my tests i found - that for me personally i can use the product, as indicated above, every 3 days and stay clean and fresh smelling. a perfect functioning V. That is, one application for every 3 days (ofcourse i probably used it daily for 2 weeks straight prior to my tests) ....Not bad, i'll take that. I am 'inlove' with this product, it is my secret weapon and i feel so empowered and confident knowing and..... FEELLING super clean when i get out of the shower, that i can go my entire day 24hrs and be fresh and clean, even for days after discontinued use. It is a SHAME that i had to wait what.....30 some years before i could finally achieve a healthy V, REALLY!? ...Now that's just sad,....... that women are not helped more by dr's and those in the medical field. To have no uncomfortable moments, with your husband, and to have confidence and to feel good about my body and V while with or without my man is priceless! i'm sorry..........i didn't emphasize that enough!.......PRICELESS! That would be a great commercial to play during super bowl! 'Pre-biotics for your Vah-jayjay! for that not so fresh feeling.' .....laugh..... i would seriously love to write the material for that baby.....would be a hoot! sorry back to the subject........ Now what have i tried over the years (since my 20's); to remove the odor even after washing, which did help some what but never as fully and completely as this product? Here is my list: Various supplements including super expensive probiotics by mouth (never helped even a tiny bit, infact! that can often alter my smell and not in a positive way) apple cider vinegar (after washing pour in hand and rub it all over and let it dry, no rinsing no dilution) Colloidal Sliver Spray (after washing spray all over vagina) this was more helpful than the above 2 listed items. 3% sulfur soap (before washing lather your girly parts up and let sit while in the shower washing other body parts, then finish with rinsing and washing V again with regular soap. And YES this burns, uuuummmmm .......yeah that's all i'll say about that one! LOL ) This was even better then the above but i liked to use in conjunction with the silver spray. I used the last two items for YEARS because it helped me manage the issue; but i still suffered in silence and shear confusion until i did research on good bacteria and tried this product. I am happy to say i do NOT NEED any of those items any longer. I just ordered another box today as i will be using my last one tonight. i am not able to find them in stores but i am happy to order online. I will use good bacteria on and in my girly parts until the day i die people!!! I'm not kidding, this is serious business for a woman. The beauty of this is it's SO SIMPLE, it makes sense, it works very effectively! Be patient and watch the changes over the course of a week. I'm not a dr, nor am i telling anyone what to do, this is my experience, this is fact, of which i can absolutely speak too because i am a WOMAN, and two i have suffered with and tried to manage..... for years..... female issues, and I know what it feels like to endure infections. I am happy to also say that i feel very confident that i will not be getting any type of infection again, as it relates to my bacteria being out of whack. I am finally, after 49 years, at peace with my V!!! LOL, ....now i just have to keep managing my menopause symptoms Which is a whole 'nother story!!! Infact i haven't used this for a couple months now. Seems like the longer you use this product the more good it does in keeping you ph balanced. Still lovin' this product, a must for female health!! And keep this product on hand always. UPDATE: 10\23\2025 Stopped using this product 4awhile. Cleaned out my linen closet recently, found it and started back using this. I bought the tablet version that is inserted. Interesting!.... But just as effective! Yes it still requires a thin pad. I only use it once every 7-14 days Iwill 4ever use this product. Oh n this time i bought the wipes and the wash in the squeeze bottle. These 3 are the absolute best, hands down!! Iswear u dont need any thing else. Idid try a product off of tiktok, it was pink, didnt do a thing! Who doesnt want a vanilla, coconut or strawberry vahjayjay! Duh! Laff. I Will never stray again! Very grateful 4this product becuz it consistently works.

This worked well for me. My obgyn said I needed more pro/pre biotic and this did the trick with help balancing my pH again.

***WARNING - This review is GRAPHIC. If you are offended or grossed out easily, DO NOT READ MY REIVEW.*** I recently started to have bad BV. I mean really bad. It would stink up the bed at first, then the bathroom, then the whole room. I have been to the doctors many times to get swabbed & there was no yeast infection. They told me it was from my IUD because my body was still adjusting. NO. My foul smell would bother my husband even after a shower. I got so sick, disgusted, & embarrassed because of how bad my BV was. I tried taking over the counter supplements for women for that area but the smell & discharge was getting worse. At this point I was completely embarrassed even if others didn't know. My discharge was awful & the smell was putrid. It was a mix of dirty socks & severe ammonia. I couldn't even be intimate with my husband. Not even foreplay. I would cry & I was so depressed. I was so embarrassed because of this. The size of my discharge was starting to be as big as a dime. I had no idea what to do until I typed in "BV" here in Amazon. I was my wits end & saw that this product had great reviews. I didn't even bother to read the full description. I just clicked "buy now". When the product came in, I didn't expect it to be suppositories - remember, I didn't read anything, I just hit "buy now". I LOVE how easy it is to use. It's a bullet shaped product that you just slip inside until it can't go further. & viola. Put on a panty liner, preferably at night & wait for this amazing product to work. The next day, the smell was gone by at least 85%. There was a tad smell, but no discharge. The following night, I used this product again. BEHOLD. MY WOMANHOOD IS NORMAL. NO MORE SMELL & NO MORE DISCHARGE. How the heck did I spend over 200$ of product to all fail & this simple thing fixed my whole entire life. There are no words for this miracle product for BV. My BV was bad when I was younger, especially when my period was going to hit, but as an adult, its terrible. I've been using this either daily or every other day & that area is clean as Mr. Clean's commercial. No more smell, no more discharge & my self-esteem to be intimate with my husband has been phenomenal. This has been my favorite item I have bought off Amazon. Totally works. No more nasty meds. It clears up any odors. I wish it came with multiple applicators versus just one. The reason for the 4 out of 5 stars
