We’ve designed a safe and incredibly soft electric blanket that is probably one of the most comfortable blankets you'll ever have the luxury of snuggling up in. This electric blanket starts with super soft micro-plush fabric and decorative triple-ribbed design that is refreshingly smooth next to your skin for the ultimate in luxurious comfort. Constructed within the blanket is the patented Safe & Warm low-voltage technology. This low-voltage blanket includes a small power supply box that changes 120 volt AC home current into non-hazardous low voltage DC current (very similar to a battery) to provide warmth, protection and safety even if the blanket becomes wet. Unlike other warming blankets with their thick bulky wires, the wires in the Soft Heat blankets are so small and thin; they are virtually unnoticeable. During construction we place the thin wires 3-inches apart and evenly distribute them from head to toe. The benefit to you is a blanket that gives more of an even heat and all over penetrating warmth with no annoying hot or cold spots. The twin size blanket comes standard with one easy to read, easy to turn, non-slip computerized controller to adjust the temperature of the blanket. A giant backlit display with auto dimming feature provides more convenience for night time adjustments without having to turn on the lights. It has an automatic pre-heat and hold feature that makes sure that your bed is warm and cozy before you climb in for the night. You simply turn it on and the blanket will warm up on HI until it reaches the temperature that you preset your dial on and then adjusts itself to hold it there. For your safety, convenience and power conservation it has an automatic shut off feature that will shut the blanket off after 10 hours just in case you forget. It also comes standard with built in over-temperature protection for that extra bit of safety and peace of mind. This warming product has been designed to provide you a gentle relaxing heat. It will NOT feel warm to the touch of your hand, even on the highest (HI) setting. You must actually use it to experience the cozy warmth that it will generate. If the control lamp is lit, it is working. We suggest you start at the HI setting for the first use and then adjust down to your personal comfort level. New Company since 2020 - Royal Heritage Home
I have been buying these "soft heat" "Perfect Fit" electric blankets since 2010. I like how they do not get too hot and do not have the rigid heating cords in the blanket. That having been said, I literally wear them out in about 2.5 years of frequent use. When they stop working I do not try to get them repaired, as I don't want to risk fire. I just buy another one. My fifth one stopped working recently. I went to Amazon to order another one. The listing in Amazon still shows this as manufactured and sold by Perfect Fit. When my order arrived, the tag on the blanket and the warranty and instruction manual had replaced the words "Perfect Fit" with "Royal Heritage Home." But my Amazon shipping documents said Perfect Fit. Some internet research showed that Perfect Fit Industries was founded in 1932 and bought out by a Chinese conglomerate in 2015. In 2020 Royal Heritage Home bought out Perfect Fit and the rights to its name and products, such as this Soft Heat blanket. They also acquired a bunch of existing inventory ready to sell. The labeling of my recent purchase has "Soft Heat" "powered by Royal Heritage Home" on it. The tag on my actual blanket says it was manufactured in June 2021, which is after Royal Heritage Home took over. When I compare my new blanket to my prior one purchased in 2019, the controls and cords are exactly the same as before, but the actual blanket seems a tiny bit different. It feels a little thinner and the fabric is not as thick and luxurious feeling as with my prior purchases. It almost feels like maybe it had been washed already. I set it up and it works. Time will tell if it will be as good as my prior ones. I will remain hopeful.

BUYERS BEWARE-READ BEFORE BUYING
Sure, I could go to Walmart or Target (no offense-I do most of my shopping there) and pay $29.99 and get an electric blanket but you will get what you paid for. In other words, the material will feel scratchy not soft and velvety like this blanket. You will feel like you are being strangled by wires because as with most electric blankets (no matter what the manufacturer's claim) you will feel the wires. Not so with this blanket. This is the best electric blanket I have ever purchased and believe me, I have spent money on a bunch of them and because they are so inexpensive I am usually not satisfied, they don't heat up enough and they stop working after a year. This is my second purchase of this blanket. Not because my last one stopped working. LOL. My last blanket met with an unfortunate end. My 5 year old daughter decided to leave silly putty on the blanket unbeknownst to me while it was on and it was like spreading glue on the blanket, it totally ruined it. I was so mad at my daughter but not too mad because she was upset too. My daughter who hates using any blankets when she sleeps was as much in love with this electric blanket as I was. A higher endorsement, I cannot give it.PLEASE READ UPDATE:I have to add a comment about customer service from this vendor. Now as a reviewer, I tend to read lots of reviews too and one trend I noticed is that most customer's are not satisfied with 3rd Party customer service. That is why I have to RAVE about the fantastic customer service from this vendor. I bought this blanket in August 2012. Around April 2013, one of the controllers stopped working (my heart stopped beating for seconds-LOL). I was thinking that I would probably have to buy another blanket (this would have been my 3rd one) but then I thought about it and realized that the blanket wasn't even a year old. I figured it would be worth a shot to call the vendor to explain how one of the controllers stopped working. To my delight, the lady was very helpful and told me that she would mail me another controller. I made the mistake of thinking that she was going to send a set (two controllers) so I put my blanket away and threw away the old controllers (both). In about a week, I received a package from them but since it was summer, I didn't get around to opening until the end of September. That is when I realized that I made a mistake in throwing away both controllers because they only sent one since in my initial complaint, I said that only one of the controllers wasn't working. I sent them an email explaining my mistake as soon as I opened the box. I figured it couldn't hurt to see if they would send another controller (fingers crossed). In the meantime I decided to use the blanket with just one controller until they sent me an email saying they would send me another controller or tell me that I would have to purchase it on my own since it was my mistake. Anyways, I went to plug in the new controller they sent me and IT DID NOT WORK. That is when I realized that the malfunction was in the wires of the blanket itself. I am thinking "now what?". I decided it wouldn't hurt to send a second email explaining how I discovered that it was the blanket that was the problem. Low and behold, the lady emailed me and asked me a few questions about the blanket (model, serial number, size, color and date of purchase) and then she APOLOGIZED and said they would send me a new blanket with controllers. I received it a week later and it works. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!UPDATE AS OF 2015:I STILL THINK THAT THIS COMPANY HAS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNFORTUNATELY THE PRODUCT IS NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT. IF YOU READ MY REVIEW THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT I HAVE HAD 3 OF THESE BLANKETS. ONE BLANKET MY DAUGHTER RUINED. ONE BLANKET STOPPED WORKING LESS THAN A YEAR AND AFTER THE COMPANY WAS SO GREAT AS TO SEND ME A REPLACEMENT, THAT BLANKET ALSO STOPPED WORKING. I AM REALLY BUMMED OUT BECAUSE WHEN THIS BLANKET WORKS, IT IS THE BEST BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE A GLITCH. WITH THE LAST TWO BLANKETS, ONE CONTROLLER (AKA ONE SIDE OF THE BLANKET) STOPPED WORKING AFTER A FEW MONTHS. IF IT HAPPENED ONCE THEN I WOULD CHALK IT UP TO COINCIDENCE BUT IT HAPPENED TWICE AND BOTH BLANKET STOPPED WORKING LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. I ORDERED ANOTHER BRAND BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY THIS HEATING BLANKET EVERY YEAR BUT I MUST SAY THAT OTHER BLANKETS THAT I HAVE TRIED ARE NOT AS GOOD AT HEATING AS THIS ONE. I HOPE THE COMPANY FIXES THIS GLITCH BECAUSE I WILL DEFINITELY BUY ONE IF I AM GUARANTEED THAT IT WILL NOT STOP WORKING.

Plush but delicate
I love this blanket for its soft plushness and muted green color. It is a bit delicate however. I always handle it carefully and, when absolutely necessary, I wash it very carefully and line dry it.The very small wires are one of the things that make them luxurious because you can hardly tell the wires are there inside the blanket. But those small wires also contribute to it being so delicate. I keep the heat comparatively low in order to avoid heat damage to the wires.I've bought several of these blankets over the years. They have not lasted the length of the warranty and I have had to request replacements more than once. The woman I have had to talk to was not always gracious about it but they always honored the warranty, if unwillingly.Despite the difficulties, I feel if you can get a good price they are worth it.

Blanket A Dud! AMAZON Customer Service is Fantastic!!!
When first opened my garnet colored soft heat blanket, it was obvious that it had been used and re-packed. It wouldn't heat up at first and then when it did, it became extremely hot, even on the lowest function. The material was very soft and the wires were not noticeable. I wanted to like it so badly! But, when I finally gave up on it and took it off my bed, I saw that the red coloring had leeched through all over my light ivory colored bed spread! It must have been from the excessive heat. I was not impressed!! I emailed the manufacturer and called and left messages, but never heard back. I chose this one for the safety and the warranty. Very disappointed! The saving grace in all of this was Amazon's EXCELLENT Customer Service!!! They were amazing! Full refund and pre-paid return shipping! That is the ONLY reason I am now buying a Sunbeam from Amazon. Maybe I just got a dud, but just too scared to try this brand again.

top quality result with some practical blips
the heat is perfectly gentlethe wires are thin and not noticeable as promisedat first i didn't think 'high' was warm enough, but i get sweaty during the night if wearing too much.preheating on high makes sense.confirming what others have said about the cord being very long, the control being very large, and the labels being very large and prominent.i am using it in a duvet cover (twin size), which i prefer to the synthetic plush texture.it's lightweight enough for me to use under a light feather duvet or weighted blanket. twin size could also work at just the feet on a larger bed if that's where you're cold like me.compared to other reviews, i feel like this was a good choice. it's been about a week or two since it arrived.

Love my blankey!
This is a very well built product. Ever since I bought it about a year ago, I have used every day for sleep as well as my afternoon nap. I have used other heated blankets, but they were not reliable and died in just a couple of months. This one has been going strong for a few months, as it should. At the end of the 7th month, the controller started to malfunction. The indicator light comes on for a few seconds and then dies. The blanket does not heat. I hope to resolve this issue via Amazon.ca where I bought this device. Amazon referred me to the Manufacturer (Perfect Fit Industries - 1 (704) 815-2200). I called them. They agreed to replace the controller free of charge once they verified that my order was placed less than 5 years ago - the period of warranty - and that the blanket had not been abused. Very fair and courteous treatment. The replacement controller will arrive in two weeks via USPS. All is good!

One of the better electric blanket we have.
I am quite pleased since I have been using this blanket for about a week. The heating dial has a setting for 10 levels but did not find that much difference in the different levels unless the very lowest and and the very highest. This blanket does not get overly hot but rather a comfortable warmth which is fine for me. I do like that the adjustment is a dial format and easy to use plus it does have an off and on button and the setting level light up. These are overall a great improvement over some other electric blankets/throws we have had. The wires are fine and you do not feel them like in some other electric blankets. One of the nicest things about this blanket is the "non slip texture pattern " which allows other bedding items like a sheet or light quilt to lay underneath or on top without the electric blanket causing it constantly "slip off". The blanket itself still has a soft touch of its own. The twin size is a good size since I needed something that could totally cover one person and not feel its too small. We are considering getting another in a larger size for another bed. Highly recommended.

Warm for a good nights sleep without a pile of covers.
This was bought to replace an old sunbeam blanket (with the clicky control) that was getting a little ratty. Arrived just in time for our first 0c night.I just feel warm, heat is even and I don't need a second blanket on top like I did with the old Sunbeam. The control is easy to adjust and has a light sensor so it dims when the lights are off (and silent like any new blanket control). The display is not digital as you might think from the photo, they use a fake LED font for the numbers that just rotates with the knob, I hate when companies use cheap tricks like that. The only other negative is because it's made from two layers only joined at the edge is can look a little baggy at the edge.Update: The wire broke right at the plug that connects to the blanket. There is no strain relief at all so I'm not surprised it broke, on the plus side it was easy to solder the wire back onto the connector.Being curious I plugged the blanket into my power meter. It draws a max of 80 watts, less then 1 watt when off. The amount of heat is controlled buy turning off / on every few seconds. Two extra notes, it averaged 0.21 KWH a night for the week I left it plugged into my power meter. One down side of the auto off, if the power cuts for even a few seconds it will not come back on when the power returns.
