Really really nice budget range practice Amp with an effects loop
Fantastic practice amps. I use this with my pedals and get some ace sounds from it, volume knob is a little fiddly and acts a bit weird on mine though when on the 50watt setting I don't use the reverb effect, it isn't that good, gets you by for home use I guess or for ideas etc. I use a strymon big sky though so I'm an effects snob lol I've recorded on this using a sennheiser e906 and an Sm57 and worked great for little demos, definitely not for like full blown recording, you want studio kit for that, but for recording ideas and demos it's great Aux is a great feature for play along too i use it alot for worship song practice for church, I spend time in the USA a lot too so I'd like to have one over there as well for practice at the apt, I have a silver jubilee 100 half stack there but being valve I only use it for recording or gigging at the big venues there I play, so I'd like this to use for home practice use out there Headphone jack as standard Effects loop which is nice to see in a practice Amp! Colour is beautiful. I love it. Distortion is decent but I clean channel it only and use my pedal board. I run my zvex box of rock and EVH5150 through it and it sounds sick with my Gibson les Paul slash November burst edition, get some rehearsal space and crank up the vol on the Amp and it's great fun This would be a great range to run into a half stack head and cab line I think, solid state but still great, blackstar are them surprising brands that are a little cheaper but excellent value and quality It's a decent size too and well built, fits in your car, sits on my desk nicely, portable, travel friendly, functionality as expected though noisy when cranked, like all amps lol... Especially budget range amps.... Noise gate sorts that nicely, I use the decimater 2 and works perfectly on all my pedals AND the Amp so.... 100% a fantastic buy and totally recommend it over the alternatives like the Fender for eg.

just the job.
This a truly great amp for those who long for simpler, easier amplifier technology that just works. It looks drop dead gorgeous irl, sounds very, very good to my ears, and I've owned and currently own several 'classic' tube amps, and the Blackstar hold it's own. I mostly play clean these days, and paired with a jazzmaster, this amp sings, I love it! The 5w attenuated practice mode is great, it takes pedals like a champ, there's so much Headroom for a smallish amp, I'm amazed. If you can't be bothered with the endless plethora of digital modelling amps, and just want good (and more than loud enough) tones, that takes analogue pedals brilliantly, then this is the one for you. I've heard some think the speaker is a bit thin, but not for me, once broken in this will be more than fine, the hall reverb is lush as well, very nice. Only downside was the fact it took amazon three weeks to deliver it, apart from that, all good. Highly recommended.

My Blackstar Debut 50R review
The Blackstar Debut 50R is a powerful, budget-friendly amp with great tone. It offers crisp clean sounds and satisfying overdrive with its ISF knob for tonal versatility. Features like reverb, boost, and headphone output make it perfect for practice. Lightweight and durable, it's ideal for beginners or smaller gigs. Pros: Great tone, versatile features, portable Cons: Not ideal for heavy metal distortion A solid amp for the price!

Good Beginners Amp
Really great amp for those starting out and playing at home, the quality feels great the volume is good and the knobs to control the sound are smooth and straight forward.

Perfect for beginners but...
I bought this little amp only a few months ago, when i decided to re-learn guitar after many years away from it. This amp stood out to me as i had learned that Blackstar amps were a respectable brand, amongst the many others out there. It was at a price point i was willing to pay at the time, and i liked the features, such as headphone port, and mp3 port. I play at night a lot, so its cool being able to jam along to tracks on youtube, all totally though headphones. Sound quality without headphones is fine. nothing special. but its a 3 inch speaker with only 15w of power. so you cant expect to sound like your heroes using this amp. it is not loud enough for band practices but can get loud enough to hear round the house if you fancy. but its built for low volume essentially... it is nothing more than a little practice amp. The built-in delay and overdrive mean you dont really need to invest in any pedals, and the clean sounds pretty nice. Its worth knowing though, that after only a few months of owning, im already craving more power and sound, as the 3 inch speaker in this guy is a bit weedy and boxy. i have my eye on the Blackstar HT-5R Mkii - so, maybe consider this before buying. this little amp looks ace, and sounds fine, but you may wish you had spent a bit more on something a bit bigger.

Super good and raw amp… takes pedals really well… natural sound with tons of gain with no break… Including this in my personal live rig

I was looking for a small non-digital, solid-state 50 watt combo that wouldn't break my back taking it to and from practices and gigs. I happened to see a ad for the 50R, and it seemed to check all my boxes. After reading a few reviews, watching a few videos on the amp, and checking out the Blackstar website, I pulled the trigger and ordered one... When it came in, I immediately tried it out with several of my single-coil and HB guitars, and all I can say is WOW, this amp definitely performs well above what you pay for it!!! The amp seems built well, only weighs around 20 pounds, and has a very small footprint. I ordered the one with the cream tolex and wine grill. I decided to try another speaker in it (not that there was anything wrong with the stock speaker), so I installed a Celestion V-Type, which made it sound ever better!!! The reverb sounds good and I like the 5 watt setting. Definitely a great amp for the money...

Very high quality of sound, compact dimensions make it perfect for trips. I'd enjoy more precise reverb functions but in this price it got everything.
