For the price, this is a well made cover using quality materials. The chin strap is a little off center side to side, but I hardly ever use it and have it tied up on one of loops in the back of the cover. I am a 7 1/8 hat size and ordered the 7 1/4. It fits perfect. The instruction label inside states, "Washing the garment will restore its water repellency." I tested it's water repellency and wasn't impressed. Sturdy material holds shape well and the brim is well sized for sun protection and doesn't flop like my old Marine issue cover. This ACU Digital camo pattern seems to reflect the sun's rays a little better than my old Woodland Camo pattern, so it's cooler on your head. I don't like that it's made in China.

This is a great product. It fits well I wear size 7 1/4, I didnt bother ordering the next size up like the other reviews because in due time it would loosen up after many times of use. I used it for a weekend 10mile hike with a gazzling 15mph wind and a slight sprinkle of rain. Its a great protection against the elements, the strap locks well & my boonie hat didnt get blown once. I saw a similar one on a local sports store and it cost almost 3x more. great product for a great price, another happy amazon purchase

Re: Boonie hat. Unfortunately, it is not as well made as the one I lost. Sadly, it was the same company manufacturing both. Additionally, one can choose a hat size – this will give you a better fit. I just wish it would be of the same quality as I remember: Rothco, Please consider giving us better quality even if you have to raise your prices. I'd like to clarify, this is better quality than the competition. You could spend more and receive an inferior Boonie.

I am a size 7 1/4 and that is exactly what I ordered here. I found this hat to fit perfectly. I didn't find it to run big or small. The stitching is done well and I don't expect I'm going to be tying 50 lbs to the thing anyway. For the money it will last a long time and it will keep the sun and rain off your face. If you are a hunter, fisherman, or whatever, this will serve its purpose. There is no need to go to the army suplus store and drop 30 bucks when you can just get it here. I am a veteran and find the difference in quality to be negligible.

I received this product promptly and in as advertised condition, new. It works as described. I normally wear 7 1/8" hat size. I ordered 7 1/4" in order to wear a stocking cap underneath it during cold weather. Too snug for that. Be advised, the brim on this is only 2 1/4" wide. I would have preferred Tru-Spec, however, they did not have it in ACU.

Love this hat for doing yard work around the house. It keeps the sun and light rain out and isn't too hot for the warm Hawaiian sun. The sizing is perfect, though I did at first mistakenly receive a size 7 which was packaged and labelled in a size 7.25. Amazon took care of it and a replacement was sent quickly. Great hat and great service.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. Outstanding quality with perfect size, quality stitching and materials. I wore it for a week to be sure, then jumped back online to buy two more so I have one for dirty yardwork, one for walking the dog, and one just because I love to wear them when the sun is beating down anytime! Highly recommended.
