Works as expected
After purchasing a much cheaper unit that failed after a few weeks, I did more research and settled on this radio. I'm glad I did. After using it for a while, I'm very pleased with the performance. Here's my list of PRO and CON: PRO Sound quality is very good, though not perfect. I blame that more on my crappy OEM speakers. Since I mostly listen to talk radio and not music, that's not really an issue. Installation was pretty straight forward and the documentation was excellent. Android Auto works as expected and gives me everything I need without using full mirroring. Phone call sound is crisp and clear and the include microphone has excellent sound. Touch screen controls work very well and are mostly intuitive, though they sometimes have a short lag between touch and action. The screen is clear and easy to read (unless you wear polarizing sunglasses). CON Slight lag in some touchscreen functions. You can touch Mute for instance and it sometimes takes a second to actually mute the radio, so I've touched it again and turned mute off. Once you realize that the function isn't always instantaneous, you are fine. The fit in the dash is a bit off, but that is mostly because of the installation kit I purchased. There is a slight gap around the head unit. Be aware of this when installing. I never really got the full Mirroring function to work with my Android phone and the JVC app. However, as I said Android Auto gives me all the functions I need. One note: I did NOT hook up my backup camera to the head unit since I have a rear camera display in my rear view mirror that works very well and I didn't want to re-route the cable for that. Overall thoughts: A good unit at a reasonable price. Hopefully it will give me many years of use. UPDATE: After 9 months of use, I am still happy with the radio. My only complaint would be the lack of actual buttons for some functions, especially volume control and mute. My truck does not have steering wheel controls, so all those functions require touching the radio itself. Since there are not buttons or knobs for these functions, you don't get any feedback as to what's going on. A minor issue, but the only thing that bothers me. Also, I have gotten lots of questions from others about "Does this fit my XXXXXXX". While I am not a car audio expert, I found it relatively easy to install with an install kit that I purchased separately. If you have never installed any electronics in your vehicle I highly recommend getting any such unit professionally installed. Most aftermarket radios can be installed in most standard vehicles but almost always will require some sort of mounting kit and wiring harness. If you try and do it yourself without the proper tools and knowledge you can get into a lot of trouble. I've done such installations many times and yet made a minor mistake on this one that cost me a lot of time and headache. Short answer: If you don't know what you're doing then DON'T.

Fantastic even though its an older model with wired AA/CarPlay. Make sure you get a quality cord.
Got this for the second car which is a 2008. I wanted Android Auto because of the convenience of it. I've got plenty of experience with Android Auto both wired from 3 previous leased cars and wireless from our current '23. For a wired unit this definitely outperforms the factory unit in the Civic's previous and current generation in terms of how soon you can use it after connecting. Just have your phone unlocked and it takes about 2 seconds after plugging it in before its connected. Very impressive for a 2020 model. Volume control is handled by a designated area on the left. You can hold up and it will slowly increase to 15. There's unfortunately no help for turning down or up past 15. The volume goes up to 40. The screen resolution is fine for map usage and legibility but isn't going to drop jaws. I haven't used the mirroring app because I don't spend enough time in the car stopped to bother with it. I paid professionals to install this. Only one issue popped up and it was the day after. They put the mic on the base of the steering wheel facing the driver and it had slid off because it sat in the sun all day and the glue on the tape melted. So I used tape made for outdoors and rough surfaces and it doesn't move now. I recommend this for anyone wanting to use their phone apps in their car. Even though it's wired you still get to charge your phone while using it. Our current car has wireless AA/CarPlay and wireless charging but neither of us has a phone that supports wireless charging. An older car most likely doesn't have that feature so consider that. Wireless is super cool for convenience but will drain your battery. Wired still works and charges your phone on long trips. That's up to you, of course. For the price difference atm, this JVC/Kenwood unit does everything I need. Something super incredibly important for wired AA/CarPlay is using a good cord. I use Sabrent brand cords in the car and with my PC for my DualSense. They've never let me down. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0765BW37N/

No physical buttons or knobs, touchscreen only
Ok, I love this head unit. It's great, good features for the money. The only problem I have is, I CANNOT use a single function on this without taking my eyes off the road. There is not one single button or knob you can feel. Example, the volume cannot be adjusted by feel so you have to look at it to turn it up or down. It is 100% touchscreen. I have fat fingers and the touch controls are very close together, almost like trying to text but typing g instead of h. I usually increase the volume when I want to decrease it, and vice versa. That is a big deal for me, but I should have known that based on the pics. I don't like not having a tactile feel for the most basic functions while driving.

JVC kw-m560bt Firmware Update Problem
This unit works until you try to update the firmware. Tried to update the firmware and the unit froze up and crashed. After that, the unit no longer powered on or booted up to home screen. After several days of trying different flash drives under 32gb recommended by JVC, the unit is dead with a black screen. Contacted JVC multiple times on problem. JVC will recommend you change flash drives and the head unit will continue the firmware update. It does not work !!! Requested that JVC repair or replace my unit. No action from JVC. I would not recommend this stereo. Faulty firmware process / files will disable your unit from working permanently.

Good Quality and Experience
Great quality and awesome sound especially if you've been using Bluetooth. Always works and the onscreen navigation is exceptional with the connected phone. Recommended as an entry level Android Auto car radio.

Great price for an upgraded stereo
Fast shipping Great price Upgraded a 2003 Corolla to have blue tooth streaming and car play (android also available). Purchased harness and dash kit by Metra on Amazon as well. Install was about 1.5 hours, which included removing old stereo and wiring the harness. I also purchased a backup camera that I’ll install later. Went ahead and installed the wiring in the back of the stereo while it was out and accessible. I also purchased a Scoshe powervolt on Amazon to replace the 12V cigarette lighter and connect directly to the stereo with the included USB port rather than run through the glovebox. Need to create a jumper wire as the powervolt has a slightly different connection than the one removed. Will update later on that, however in the meantime I can connect my phone with the cable through the glovebox directly to the stereo. This is the only way that CarPlay will work. Bluetooth works for streaming and phone calls. Recommend this stereo to anyone looking to upgrade their car!

Form Factor is the Best Part!
I've gone through a few Kenwood units for another vehicle previously and thought I'd save some money for my daily driver. This ended up being the right call as JVC products are definitely comparable in terms of build and quality. Out of the box, the instructions were clear and the wiring/harnesses were clearly labeled. The smaller form factor (depth) made shoving this into the dash extremely easy. I didn't have to spend much time cable managing and was able to fit an ASWC-1 unit, cables for the backup camera and a USB extension/splitter all into the cavity with room to spare. Getting Android Auto and Apple Carplay on a 20 year old car was a nice technology refresh.

Works Flawlessly
Everything works great. Not a huge fan of the limited backgrounds and that you have to use a USB to put a different background on it instead of the phone that's connected but not the end of the world. The sound quality is good and once you get it set up for your vehicle it sounds good. The screen mirroring works decently well for Android, streaming services like Netflix, disney+, etc. just show a black screen but YouTube mirrors and most social media apps. Overall it's a huge improvement over the stock 6 disc CD changer from 2005 that it replaced.

Good price/value
Good price/value. Older device a bit slow but does the job. Does not have a built in GPS antenna. Make sure you get the right cables.
