I guess I thought for some reason it would be glass. Maybe that’s because what I was replacing was glass. But I’m over the moon happy! Great product looks identical to what I was replacing. Thick plastic and everything fits perfect!!

This globe light was the perfect replacement for the one that had broken because the whole pole light fell, breaking the old plastic globe.The big box retail stores used to sell replacements, but they don’t anymore. I was able to locate the correct replacement on Amazon. Was the right size and needed it to be hard plastic since it was in a pool area.Good quality and great packaging to make sure it arrived intact.

I used these globes to replace the 5 globes on my 1980s Victorian Gargoyle street lamp. While the acrylic shades nail the look, the neck circumference was a little too big. I don't know if this is an Imperial versus Metric system detail. But as they were just a little too tight to slip into the slots, we had to get a grinder and nip the edge off a bit. This was feasible as the globes are acrylic and not glass. Once we were able to slide them in, we were able to tighten the setting screws to hold them in place as normal. So I achieved a satisfactory result but with an extra step. My local lighting store no longer carries this kind of globe so I was very glad to get them from Amazon in less than 48 hours.
