However, they soon became more flexible and I found the textured surface softened and is helpful when the sandals became wet from watering the garden or stepping into them out of the shower. Other croc sandals I had featured a smooth surface underfoot and they became very slippery and not good at all to wear on the beach. These are fine when wet.
