My timing belt replacement went well using this tool however the fit of the crank locking piece was not as good as I was hoping. It went into the pin hole in the block fine however didn't mesh entirely well with the teeth on the crank, but it meshed well enough to hold crank in position fine for the job.I also marked a tooth on the old belt and marked cam pulley there too with a dot of white paint and did the same at the crank on both the belt and crank. After removing the belt I counted the teeth between the marks and put marks on the new belt at the same exact number of teeth prior to installing the new belt. Doing this gave me confidence knowing that when I installed it there was no chance I was one tooth off since I aligned the transferred marks with my marks on the cam and crank. Without any adjustment needed to the cam pulley, the torsion value came in at -1.5 at start up. I did not have to readjust the torsion value at any point later.Be careful not to over tighten the belt tensioner by going past the arrow tab window. It will put too much tension on the belt and also affect your torsion value a little.

I read the reviews that said it didn't fit BRM. I still bought it and tried it on my BRM. It does not work on the BRM engine. Description needs changed

A little loose fitting on the crank pulley, but not bad. It fit my 2006 Jetta TDI.
