Great
She came back hard and strong! No one can stand in her way or the love she has for the crew, west, and saint.

Amazing storytelling!
Oh my gosh this book was fantastic!! This is the 2nd book of the series. Fable is FIERCE, sassy, beautiful! After "Fable" (Book #1) leaves us with a cliffhanger and Fable's fate hanging in the balance, Book 2 takes off with a bang! Action packed, intrigue, twists, turns, romance, friends, enemies, enemies that turn into friends, and complicated family relationships - all the good stuff that makes this book just incredible!! I love the characters - West, Fable's love interest, Willa, Paj & Auster (oh my heart, these two!!), Saint (a guy you love to hate, but in the end, he's just a dad looking out for his baby girl!). This was an excellent, well written novel. I was hooked from book #1 and I read book 2 in less than 24 hours - it's that good!!! I got my HEA but now I'm wishing for more development of these characters!!! READ IT!!❤️

Fable and her found family kind of lose their way in second book
3.5 stars actually.Well, shoot. Second book didn't live up to the promise of the first in this duology. We leave Fable and her found family in the crew of the Marigold in a cliffhanger at the end of book one. This book picks up where that one leaves off with Fable separated from the others and forced to dive/dredge for gemstones in the ocean again. Then there was political manuevering, another trader with a horrific reputation like Saint, and then some massive inconsistencies with the way some of the major male characters' actions are perceived or judged.Sigh.I just couldn't keep on shipping Fable and West because West becomes erratic. I mean, yes its romantic he'll do anything for her, but he's already proven he'll do anything for his sister as well as his crew, and to throw it all away on vague strategies for just Fable...even the author has the Marigold's crew not liking it and possibly forever being ruptured. Not cool. And what about Koy? All of a sudden his attempted murder/assault of Fable in book one is okay because he kind of might have begrudgingly come to know and respect her as a dredger? If someone is going to be redeemed, lets have that redemption and grief...not just Fable accept him as someone in her found family with no consequences. And then there's Saint. I kind of went along with the first book with Fable's version of events where he was so struck down by grief he literally couldn't stand to see her...but he then left her for years on an island of cut throats and thieves. I mean, why not just toss her into an orphanage? Take her to the Narrows or the Unnamed sea and leave her with Holland? Why literally force her into a brutal life? Not sure I can see that as anything other than abuse which Fable again, with very little processing or grief, just accepts.So...not entirely won over by the male cast. Which is a big problem for me since the plot in this book also involves finding mcguffins, and the intro of another big bad scary man who fizzles out, so not sure if the overall theme of "Do anything for those you love and dash the consequences" really plays out well for Fable.Too bad, because the first book was much more promising with the moral quandries of how West could maintain his found family and his care for Fable, and how Fable was winning free of her juvenile fixation on Saint saving her.

This was the perfect conclusion!
This was the perfect conclusion! Can I say that I love Saint? I won't give you more, I don't want to spoil it for you. Before you read this book you have to know this is a duology and you must read Fable to understand Namesake. At the end of Fable, our heroine was in dire straits, Wasn't she?Onboard in the Luna, Fable doesn't have a friend. The crew wants to kill her and the man she thought was a friend has betrayed her and Saint. Worse, she has no clue if West knows what happened to her.Fable is given an ultimatum. She must dredge for her freedom. Then, things get worse, Koy is in the same boat and the last time they parted ways, he promised to kill her 🗡.Worse, a new adversary will give them all a run for their money.~~I'm really glad about how the story developed. I loved how the narrative just flowed. Fable remains an interesting character throughout, same with West and the rest of the crew. Koy was an unexpected addition but one that was welcome.I'm sad this story is over. It was an interesting world. Cutthroat to say the least. Would I join them? Hmm, not sure if I can live in a boat despite the hammock sounding very appealing.Lastly, I want to say how lucky is Adrienne Young with her covers. This one is gorgeous!Cliffhanger: No4/5 Fangs

I really enjoyed this book
I bought Fable and Namesake, admittedly only after I saw that putting the dust jackets together made a whole face (you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but a cool cover will definitely draw me in)I could not put them down. Adrienne Young's writing is beautifully descriptive and gripping, and I devoured these books quicker than I can recall reading anything else. So, why did I deduct a star? One issue I had with the ending. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who may want to read it, nor do I want to discourage anyone's interest in reading it and forming their own opinion. As I said, I loved these books. Read on if you don't mind spoilers...The big "plan" at the end, and the way they ruined her grandmother's big plans for expanding her trading, I was expecting her to come after them in some way. But she just... disappeared and didn't seem all that bothered. I don't know, it just felt a little anticlimactic. Also, the way Saint announced that Fable is his daughter. It got practically no reaction from anyone around them despite being this big secret. Yes, it made Fable emotional, but overall everyone else was just like, "Okay, cool. Anyway..." I felt like maybe Young was avoiding drawing the book out too long, which is understandable since she clearly didn't plan to make it into a trilogy.Overall, both Fable and Namesake are wonderfully written YA novels, and I highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys reading about adventure that isn't drowned out by the protagonist's romance arc or overly graphic sexual scenes. I would definitely read these books again in the future.

MARVELLOUS READ
I can't begin to tell you how much I have loved the Fable series. As soon as I had finished Fable I ordered the next one and last of the trilogy Namesake. It was everything and better, absolutely phenomenal and one of my favourites of 2021. Namesake carries on from where we left off in Fable, so much happens in Namesake full of twists and turns on each page you turn. Fable is stuck on Zola's ship after he takes her. He wants something from Fable, which she finds out she has no choice but to help him achieve what he wants ,if she wants to get back to West and her crew. But as she gets more and more into the deals and choices, Fable is thrust into deep secrets that are brought up about by her mother, with that comes unimaginable dangers for her and the ones she loves. Fable has to make a difficult choice and risk everything she has in her, to save the family she has left ,and for the one that she loves so she can finally and hopefully have the life and home she has always wanted. This was a breathtaking book. I was really sucked into this sea adventure, with West and Fable and crew,I love West so much. He was my favourite character, the love he has for Fable was beautiful and the strengths and troubles he goes to finding her is breathtaking. Adrienne Young did an amazing job with this trilogy and I will miss reading them alot. It was an extraordinary sea adventure and I can't wait to read more of her books. Which I have ordered and can't wait to dive into them. Epic read and I certainly enjoyed riding the sea on the marigold.

I couldn't put it down... incredible storytelling
I got this book on the recommendation of Reese Witherspoons book club and is totally different from my usual reads, but I'm so glad I did. I've not enjoyed a book this much in ages, I devoured it and immediately went onto the sequel which was just as good. Highly recommend!

4,5 🌟
Buongiorno a tutti!

Love it
Ame el desenlace de estos dos libros, realmente me gustó leer la historia de Fable, como se va creando el amor y como las amistades se van afianzando, y aunque eran enemigos para sobrevivir también son amigos... amoooo
