It's incredibly well designed and makes marking awkward or hard-to-reach areas much easier than using a standard pencil. The long, narrow tip easily reaches into deep fixing holes, brackets and tight spaces, making it ideal for accurately marking wood, metal, plastic and masonry before drilling or cutting. The 2.8mm lead is strong, produces clear, easy-to-see marks and doesn't snap easily during normal use. The pencil itself feels robust and comfortable to hold, and the built-in sharpener is a really useful feature, allowing you to keep the lead sharp without carrying extra tools. It's clear this has been designed with professional tradespeople in mind, but it's just as useful for DIY projects around the home. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No more pencil hunting

If you're anything like me, you can never find your pencil. I'm a serial DIYer, but spend most of my time pencil hunting. I swear I put it behind my ear... That was until I got my Tracer pencil. Gone are the days of vanishing pencils. It now sits proudly in one of the screwdriver loops of my work trousers. Simple to grab whenever I need it, and easy to remember to return it to it's holster. Apart from now knowing exactly where it is at all times, this is also a great pencil. It doesn't blunt too quickly, and is easy to quickly sharpen with the built in sharpener on the holster. It's not the cheapest, but I'd say you definitely get what you pay for. It's a well thought out design, and good quality. Just a word of warning, if you're using it to mark a deep hole, you need to be extra careful. The lead will be fully extracted, and although it's probably stronger than the average pencil lead, it is still brittle, and will snap with any lateral pressure. Overall, though, this is one of my favourite additions to my toolkit. It's simple and unsexy, but has saved me so much time now I don't have to play hide and seek with my pencil.
