Ive been searching for a sack like this one!
This compression sack is awesome! I have ordered 4 different compression sacks all to be returned because I could not find one I liked. Most compression sacks compress the items into a weird ball like figure. I dreamed of finding a compression sack like this that compresses the items long ways in a more packable shape. I am going on a backpacking trip to Yosemite and I am trying to pack as light as possible. That being said, my clothes and sleeping bag won't fit in my bag unless I am able to compress them effectively. This does the job perfectly! I am able to fit my sleeping bag and clothes in this bag and fit it inside my pack next to my bear canister. I have a 55L bag so it's not a huge bag. This easily compresses my sleeping bag, hiking pants, pajamas, hiking socks, hiking shirt, underwear down to the same size that other sacks that would only compress my sleeping bag. This has a wide opening so everything fits easily inside. To get more air out once you've compressed it as far as you think it will go, kneel on the sack to let even more air while tightening the straps simultaneously. I have not used this in the field yet, but I expect it to hold up. The buckles are small and made of plastic but they do not feel cheap.Be careful if you're ordering the blue sack that it does not say orange as the labeled color (I accidentally selected my sack based on pictures and not the labeled color). I accidentally ordered the orange sack when I intended to order the blue one. This is partially my fault, but it was also bad labeling on Amazon's part.

Highly Recommend
First, Osprey was super smart in coming up with a compression sack that is not round. This is something you could use in a duffle, suitcase or backpack AND have additional space to fill. I just returned from a 20 day trip to Nepal and Tibet. I had to pack for both summer and winter-like conditions. I fit all of my clothing into this bag. 2 sets of smartwool baselayers, 3 pairs of wool socks, 10 pair of underwear, 2 sports bras, zip off pant, two long sleeve shirts, 2 short sleeve moisture wicking shirts, 2 head bands, 800 fill down jacket (stuffed into its pocket), rain pants, rain jacket, fleece hoody, hat, gloves. At first I thought I wanted two compression sacks so I could separate clothing according to temperature. However, the 32L fit better in my 90L duffle than the 32L and 20L combined. And, in the end, it was a lot easier having all of my clothing in one bag as some nights that was the only thing I needed to pull out of my duffle. The compression sack is super light weight, tough as nails in terms of zipper strength and compression clips/straps. I cannot comment on water resistance as that was not an issue. However, our porters took the bus two days in a row while we trekked and our duffles were tossed off the bus, down a hill. My 8oz container of Dr. Bronners exploded and the sack avoided soaking up the soap and was able to withstand rough handling.Again, I love the overall shape of the sack. Whether I use this in my backpack, suitcase or duffle, it allows additional items to be stacked on top without taking up space. I tried a 32L round compression sack and I could not fit everything I needed in my 90L duffle. I highly recommend and will purchase more if/when needed!

Wish it came in transparent
I absolutely love that these compress down creating a cylinder rather than a cube. It's perfect for a pillow or anything bulky that can be rolled, without mangling the shape or making a garment hopelessly wrinkled. The only way this could be better would be if it were more transparent to quickly identify what's inside.

... fit a thermarest top quilt in and it worked great (Regulus model)
I am using this to fit a thermarest top quilt in and it worked great (Regulus model). It packs it down nice and tight. Based on how well it worked, I am also planning to use it for traveling around Europe later this year. The straps and clips are a little flimsy feeling, but as this is meant to be lightweight, that may be the trade off.The trapezoid shape is true to the picture, and I can never seem to get my bag stuffed all the way into both corners, so it seems like a small bit of waste.

A great travel compression sack
If you have limited space, such as if you want to do carry on instead of having to check a larger bag, these are great. The reduce a stack of clothes to about half. Light weight, well designed and easy to use. I have a 12 liter and a 20 liter sack. Both are good sizes to use. I suspect the 8 would be too small and the 32 too large, but I have not tried these. If volume is not critical, a packing cube may be better. These compression sacks do not open up wide, so it may be a little harder to find things in it.

Great for Sleeping Bags or Quilts
This Osprey straight jacket bag is great for packing my sleeping bags or quilts. I neatly tucks into the sleeping bag compartment of most Osprey back packs. I even use it on my ultralight back packs as it provides me added room inside the pack. This is a great little bag.

Many uses, great for kids. I love all things Osprey and like having these for multiple applications.
Dirty laundry in a nice tight package! I use these for a few key things... First, and obviously, when trying to compress for packing (things such as pillows or down blankets/jackets/sleeping bags) Second, for separating types of packing in a larger bag... seasonal/specific-use items, for instance... (snow clothes, swim towel/suit, equestrian clothes...etc) Lastly, and most commonly, as a dirty laundry bag in my kids' luggage. For some reason, my kids are more likely to humor mom and put all their dirty clothes packed away into the osprey sacks during a trip, rather than a plastic bag or "laundry bag". Although these are much more expensive than other options for such a purpose, I like the ease of compressing all the crumpled up dirty laundry in a neat package for mom to more easily deal with when offloaded into the laundry room at the end of a trip. My teen son has complied, every time, when I send the osprey sack... otherwise it seems I nag a bit more, which no one needs. Life's silly little victories are sometimes worth the extra money, especially when you have 3 kids traveling internationally quite a bit. Bonus... these look really cool and not like a laundry sack. Combined with his rolling Osprey carry-on, toiletry case and long-time backpack.... my son is organized and very happy with all his Osprey gear. This is the cherry on top.

Good quality, but pricey
Well made, as all Osprey products, but expensive. Was expecting it to be larger.
