Dave The Funky Shoulder Monkey

Well, this is a really cute little monkey, my 9 yr old daughter really loves it. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the outrageous price. Seems to me to be about a $25 dollar toy. I really expected something more for the price but, as I said, my kid loves it!

Kids enjoy it, but I've had more success with the random button in the monkey's stomach than in using the somewhat confusing remote that shipped with it.

This is a hilarious item that I got for the grandkids, but it's fun for anyone to play with. It makes funny noises and "farts" and then waves its hand....so funny. I love to play with it when I go visit my family. A great gift for anyone!

It is cute, but does not not work very well. The remote does not work at all and everything seems to be quite intermittent.

I purchased "Dave" for my 5 yr old nephew who lives across country from me. My brother told me he was so excited when the monkey started moving, and he loved that he could strap it to his shoulder. I wish I had been there to see it. I would recommend this gift to any little boy.

This is a playful, interactive robotic toy that's just about the most entertaining thing I've seen this year. Dave is cute, engaging and a great electronic-pet.

My son received one for Christmas... quite fiddly to attach, though it kept him entertained when we went for christmas lunch with the rest of the family. The monkey even works if the person with the remote control is outside the room behind a closed door! We were at a house full of family and five young children under 10 so Dave the monkey certainly got plenty of attention! However, Dave must be hibernating (mmm, I didn't know monkeys did that either) because we haven't seen much of him since christmas holidays ended. Overall though great fun for children & we didn't notice any problems at all with the remote.

this is a genius concept, borders on magical for kids of various ages (and pretty damn funny to adults if truth be known), and even just as a puppet can provide hours of hilarity. only gripe was that it could be a little temperamental, i.e. it didn't work every time - perhaps the connections weren't that great? it probably doesn't stand up to being manhandled by kids all the time, which is, after all, clearly what will happen. but it wasn't very expensive, so it doesn't surprise me massively.

But i think its rubbish. When people are saying that before xmas 2 years ago it was less than £10 i feel a bit ripped off... and i didn't even pay for it ! LOL. The vocals are a bit quite and the movements are all similar. A bit too similar. He does a good bum trumpet noise though, made me chuckle :)

I got this as a gift for my grandson and he loved it...the mechanical sound gets on my nerves but he doesn't seem to hear it and it created lots of laughter in the family at Christmas...it's different...I feel it is definitely a gift for children under the age of 10...

We were very pleased with the prompt despatch. Greatly dismayed though at the condition of the box holding the product. It was squashed, some of the sellotape had been broken, altogether it looked like a secondhand gift. If there had been sufficient time before the birthday I would have returned it. As it was, we hoped the child in question would be too eager to extract thecontents to notice, though we thought the adults present would. Suggest packaging is used in future instead of just placing product in a plastic bag for posting.

We loved the idea , and my grandson was delighted it suited his sense of humour. Unfortunately it didn't notwork, making only a couple of noises. We were unable to exchange, so perhaps another would have worked.A shame we all loved the fun it would have made.

Bought this for my son. I think its great, but he's 10 and hasn't played with it at all! It works well, and the money is really cute, so I would recommend this, but not for a 10 year old boy!

Bought this for my 4 year old nephew & he loved it. The shoulder strap is a waste of time, especially for a 4 year old, but he didn't want it on his shoulder anyway. The children love the rude noises it makes & the remote is easy to work.

The toy arrived very promptly & seemed to please the young person who wanted it.Apart from some slight difficulty in fixing it to wear on his shoulder, it seems to have provided him with a fair amount of entertainment

Bought this little chap for my grandson, remote works randomly and the strap to wear him on your shoulder does no such thing.no doubt he'll be going to toy heaven very soon!! Waste of money.

Bought this for a ten year old birthday present when we first opened it it would not work and the child was very upsetfinally found that the battery in the monkey its self was corroded replaced battery and working ok now.The child is very happy with this funny item but you wonder how long this has been lying around on the shelf for the battery to be in this condition

It doesnt actually work very well and my 10yr old found it difficult to understand the instructions, great idea just not that good and soon ended up on a shelf

Bought Dave for my sons 9th birthday. He loved it, specially the wind noises Dave can make. He wasn't the favourite toy for long & after a month, I haven't seen it turned on. But still a fab gift, works well and the initial joy was worth the money.

Really quick delivery my niece loves it

I brought this for an adult's birthday present and it went around the office like a pet, well recieved. Not sure how much longevity it would have but worth the money for the fun had by all.
