Good
I'm Venezuelan, and this product made my life easier when making arepas at home. I love arepas; they're perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. That's what made me fall in love with this product.

“I love this arepa maker! I’m
“I love this arepa maker! It heats up quickly and cooks the arepas evenly with a nice golden crust. It’s also great for making grilled sandwiches and even pancakes. Super easy to clean and doesn’t take up too much space on the counter. If you love arepas, this is a must-have in your kitchen!”

Great crunch
My mother had the most amazing arepa maker that she brought back from Venezuela and once us kids moved out my mother showed her true colors and decided to give this family hairloom to my brother, therefore picking her favorite child. With my heart broken I had to now venture the world alone and hungry so I knew it was time for me to make the purchase. This arepa maker rejoices my soul with one of my favorite foods from home multiple times a week. You get a nice crunch to the arepas around the 12 to 15 minute mark. The size of this is fantastic, I have 3 people at home and we each eat two of them so that works perfect. Theres no need for cleaning since the arepas don't stick. I do sometimes wipe a little bit of oil with a paper towel and thats it. It's also easy to store as it can sit up right.

Worked good for a year….fixed it pretty easily... back in action.
Please add a fuse switch or something. Ours quit working after a year. I’m going to tear it apart and see if there is a fuse I can replace. Lights still turn on, does not heat up. (Not a tripped GFI)ok, i took it apart, pretty easy, a few Phillips head screws, and found a push on connector that was no longer connected, i pinched it closed a little tighter and slid it back onto the male end, gave it a tug and it feels like a good connection. i lined everything back up and replaced the screws and plugged it back in, works like a champ again. taking it up to 4 stars.

This is awesome!
**********update*****Over use I have noticed the areas sticking to the machine. This was remedied by cleaning it with a soft silicone sponge and a drop of Palmolive and more importantly using butter and immediately putting the arepas to cook. **************************************So we used to have an arepa maker by oster or osterize bought in Venezuela. They sadly no longer don't make it or I can't find it. I looked for years on Amazon for a good arepa maker and most reviews were at best mixed even the imusa one. So when I saw this one, the price and reviews had me pull the trigger with low expectations. So far after a few months this machine has been a beast. It makes great arepas but tweaking the instructions and the dough. So the instructions say 10 to 14 minutes to cook. However I like my arepas crunchy so instead I would say 15 to 20 minutes. You also better off making the dough thinner so that it cooks better. The cons of the machine are pretty negligible and I'm comparing it to the older arepa maker we had that broke.Cons:*build quality: this machine has cheaper plastic and a lot lighter than the old one and smaller in size.*cook time: the old machine took like 8 to 10 minutes to cook. This machine takes double the time but cooks them well without an issue so I don't care.In summary unless you go to Venezuela or Colombia and can find a good robust arepa maker and bring it to the USA this is the next best thing.
