Concluding one of the very best sitcoms of (fairly) recent times
I did approach this particular final series with a little trepidation - not seen it for years but then I won't give anything away here for the surely very few that wouldn't know. :) I did think that after watching the whole series in order there is a different feel/look on these... higher production values and the widescreen would likely exaggerate that though. Just as funny as what came before, in any case. Don't forget the standalone disc with those two Christmas specials as well - if you're thinking the series stops here. :)

Sad but one of the best seasons!
hard to describe this one, as he dies in this season at the end it is quite sad but lukily what makes this dvd season a must have is the fact it has plenty of other episodes to watch before this happens, and in my opinion there some of the best episodes ever made for one foot in the grave so even if you dont watch the last one too much as its sad you still have the other great ones to watch so its a must have if your a collector of these

Just who is in charge of BBC dvd releases?
Amazon should consider introducing a dual rating system for cd and dvd releases in which one set of stars is the rating for the material contained on the discs and the other set rates the value for money of the package as a whole. Were they to do this we would probably have a series of 5 star content coupled with 1 star packaging reviews. In this particular case on one disc we have the whole of the wonderful final series;on the other is a fairly interesting "Story of One Foot in the Grave" which we can't help noticing is entirely unaccompanied by EITHER of the two remaining unreleased Christmas specials despite the fact that there is plenty of room on the disc....I say unreleased but I suspect that they might be available on the Complete series Box-Set so as things stand those of us who have been buying each series as it was released are faced with the prospect of buying them all again in order to acquire the specials or wait on the powers that be to release them separately. This sort of thing happens time and time again with UK dvd releases especially those featuring BBC material.I DON'T BELIEVE IT!

Shame on the BBC.
I have deducted one star as the BBC have omitted to include the last Christmas special on this dvd, on previous releases they have incl. Christmas specials as bonus material but all we get with this one is a documentary. As this is the final series it seem's the Beeb have missed an opportunity to release the complete adventures of Victor and Co, and in the words of Victor 'I don't believe it!' However the episodes shown here are classics.

Brillant series but....
I love this series, it made my day to get the final series to complete the collection, only problem is they missed out TWO Xmas specials, yes they included the Documenty show at the end of the season but no Xmas specials. So this only gets four stars as they releasing the two Xmas special on another disc set, squeezing more money out of the public who love this programme...BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT???
