desertcart.com: Physics for Scientists and Engineers with Modern, Revised Hybrid (with WebAssign Printed Access Card for Physics, Multi-Term Courses): 9781305266292: Serway, Raymond A., Jewett, John W.: Books Review: Necessary for STEM Students! - Probably one of the greatest introductory physics textbooks I've ever used. It's been about a year since I've ordered it now and I finished the main sequence of physics (kinematics, electricity& magnetism, and waves/optics and modern physics). I feel that it is only fair to review it AFTER I had to opportunity to use it to its full extent. The explanations are great in my opinion, and plenty of useful analogies are in place to ease you into understanding a concept. There is also enough history and backstory to some of the equations and its derivations to add to the substance without derailing the subject too much from the actual science of it. Diagrams are generally spot on and equations are properly highlighted and referenced. Some of my caveats though were that figures referenced weren't always on the same page (usually next page) which made it annoying on certain chapters. A lot of the modern physics chapters are also very introductory, so keep that in mind; it is mainly for the initial topics of classical physics with some chapters on relativity, quantum, and atomic physics. Overall I loved it though, and it is one of the few textbooks I will probably keep and reread for years to come. Review: Excellent complete package. - Book and code were in new condition. Code checks out and textbook is easy softcover to handle.

This text is full of theory and problems but it didn't help me.
I did like this book but I def don't feel like it helped me to learn to solve physics problems. The example problems are very beginner and I almost never saw those problems on exams. Not sure how I passed physics, but I wish this book helped more. I like what it looks like, which is stupid, but it's the truth. If you're struggling like I was, go see the prof, it truly is the only way you'll figure it out. I was very stubborn and kept wanting to learn it on my own, but that never happened. Bug the crap out of your professor with questions no matter how lame. They are so good at physics they can't understand what you don't understand about it, but if you press them with questions like why? or How do you know that? you will get the understanding you are looking for. Not everyone learns in the same way. I wish that concept would catch on.

Perfect!
Perfect for those who want Webassign access codes as well as a hard copy and digital copy of this book. The book is in color which surprised me, and I can keep this and use this book as reference for years to come.

Code Missing
Right now I give this book 3 stars for the lack of code. The book arrived clean and without creasing as it should be. I ordered this book brand new thinking that the code would be attached to the book. It wasn't on the cover, inside the book, or even under the book. I found it ironic that on the cover of my copy, it is printed: "This text is sold with an accompanying online homework solution. Before purchasing, please verify the presence of an Enhance WebAssign access code shrink-wrapped with the text." I called Customer Service about this issue and they were kind enough to offer a replacement book that might have the code. While I wait for this replacement, I can still use the text in class and luckily a two-week trial period is offered for the online portion.
