SNOOPER is the only product that actually works by constantly monitoring your speed via GPS
Really great company to do business with, especially ALEX of whom put my mind at rest following my accidental payment for a service that i did not require for the product i bought,(SNOOPER MySpeed XL -PLUS(gen 2)) speed camera detector/speed limit warning device. He speedily sorted out my issue and all was sorted in a coupprotecting my driving license as i travel a lot in my job, the SNOOPER is the only product that actually works by constantly monitoring your speed via GPS true speed. After trying a couple of competitors products for the purpose of , warning my of any overspeed both visually and audibly. It also indicates my direction of travel, the name of the road i am on, but the big plus is advanced voice warning of speed cameras of all types used on our roads with "free lifetime updates". There are also settings for the different vehicle types from car,motorhome/caravan,light commercial to HGV of which the unit will keep you withing the limits for each type of vehicle whatever road type you are on, giving total confidence that you are driving within the law, and there is no need for laser camera warnings if you follow the SNOOPERS instructions you will never be at risk of being caught speeding. HIGHLY RECOMENDED *****

Do not buy … waste of money
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought as I have experienced all then same problems other reviewers have. Firstly I was unable to register the device on line so I had to contact the help desk. The next problem was it would not acquire satellites, helpdesk suggested I hold it outside the car which I did (whilst parked) and after 20 mins or so it did acquire suffient satellites to start ‘working’ .The speed indicator s way out displays 30 when doing 50 very unstable. The worst bit which renders this product completely useless is the fact that the database for cameras and speed limits is way out of date. The helpdesk confirmed I had the latest update however the device is still showing temporary speed cameras on M4 from Slough to Newbury which have been gone for at least two years. Also many speed limits are indicated incorrectly out on A roads. This is a real shame as the principle of the device is great ie inform you of change in speed limits , warn when you are over speed , warn when you are approaching a camera … it would be great if they could get all those features to work correctly . One final pint is that the device is far from discreet , it takes a lot of windscreen view so you have some of your forward view obscured, it would be much better if it were half the size.

So far so good on the first day of use.
I guess its been luck rather then judgement that I've never had a ticket in 35 years of driving thou I'm not or never have been a boy racer .I fit into the category of those who find it easy to creep a few mph of the speed limit .Seeing more and more mobile speed traps in my area I thought it was time to invest in speed camera detector as the minimum speeding fine in 2021 is £100 plus points on your licence .I was a bit apprehensive about buying the snooper as it has it has a few negative reviews and the cost which is about mid range for a speed camera detectorI ordered on a Sunday Afternoon and it was with me Monday morning ,thou no instructions came with the snooper its easy to find them on line .Being a bit of a technophobe I wasn't sure weather it was good to go or needed an update first so i called the helpline and was told the snooper is good to go out of the box but would benefit for free updates twice a year after being registeredI had a 2 hour drive yesterday and so far so good , it picked up one mobile speed trap and one fixed camera so far I also love the way snooper shows the real speed on the left and the speed limit on the right I was surprised that my 2 year old fiats speedo is around 4 mph out being under rather then over .This detector may not be as good as the road angel pure but the snooper is free to use where the angel charges from £99 a year for subscription .

good visible as well es good hearable (is that english??
the allowed speed always coms later es what you see, but that you get used to.I could place it in the very window corner, so good to see as is the time.In total very happythe Snooper-sat-nav my nephew could place on the dashboard in stead of on the window, fantastic, window is free. But, also without my brilliant nephew, the both snooper items are very good, used both already many years.

Unit not really up to the job
After having a speeding ticket for a few MPH over limit I decided to get some protection, this may seem a bit pricey but it is cheaper than a fine and points and all the hassle. In Britain there seem to bee too many speed limits, a lot more 20mph limits appearing and on main roads that used to be 60, sections are now 50 or lower. This helps firstly because it quickly tells you the limit on the present road ( which are not always well marked ) and a loud double beep when limit changes. Also alerts you to areas where mobile cameras lurk, and also fixed cameras. I found that with newer camera types you can no longer rely on lines in the road to tell you a camera is there. The camera that got me was actually facing into a traffic light controlled junction and I assumed it was a red light camera ( no lines in the road ) but I found out that it doubles as red light and speed camera... Every day is a schoolday, but some are more expensive that others.EDIT Aug 2024 - Been using Snooper for about 11 months and found out from experience that my Garmin Satnav unit has a far more up-to-date speed limit database than the Snooper. I have updated snooper frequently since I got it, but still find a lot of speed limits ( especially ones that have gone down from 60 to 50, and 30 to 20 ) that I know have been in existence for a year or more, but have not been updated on the snooper, I have also noticed that speed cameras that were installed over 6 months ago do not show up. It seems that Snooper are not very diligent with keeping up with speed limits and cameras, which defeats the object of a pretty expensive stand-alone speed camera device. Have reduced stars from5 to 2, the unit is good for telling you which road you are traveling on, but not much more.
