the instructions are clear. it's only going to light up when it's plugged in with the top piece down so you know when the seal is complete. it does take trial and error. at first i thought it wasn't doing anything, but realized it was just too low of heat for my bags. i prefer this brand over the most popular amazon choice brand. i've tried both and this one was clean and with all of the pieces in one box. even if it were to break after a few months, i'd actually buy it again. the price is worth the end result. i give it a 9/10.i would also like to mention that it - most likely - will break the bag depending on how strong your bags are that you're sealing. and by break the bag, i mean when someone opens the bag. i didn't buy this to preserve the bag though. i bought it to preserve my baked goods. i doubt anyone cares about saving the cheap bag when the point is to get what's inside.

I already owned one of these and use it almost everyday in my business. Loved it so much I purchased one for my father. Overall it's a nice unit. If I had it to do over again I probably would have purchased the larger unit since I make little bubble wrapped pouches with it. Most bubble wrap is 12x12 so there is some left over not sealed sections. Would be nice to see some replacement cloth material sections included. I found out if you use it on a higher setting the plastic will stick to the material. When you try to remove the melted plastic it tears away and the cloth material leaving holes and hot spots.

I have a small soap business I shrink wrap soaps for. This great little machine is so helpful, sealing the bags. I don’t worry about kids burning hands or heat sources because it only heats when you hold it closed.

It works well it's got a setting real fast you want it if you leave it in the middle it takes you know 3 seconds or so and it seals it good but there's not a long seal surface it's an actual good to eat in maybe and a foot would be so much more easy I feel myself I have to seal it on the side and then seal it on the top and then I'm left sealing it from the other side way of the side and the other side where the top I just I wish it was longer if you have bigger bags or anything that's like over 6 in you're not going to be able to see it all at once you're going to have to finangle both sides to match the seal which is an ideal but it does work

I've been using this for months now. It makes great seals on my cookie and macaron bags for my micro bakery. I watched some videos online and have to adjust the heat accordingly for the type of bag I'm using and the length of time I use it. So there is trial and error if you've never used a heat sealer before but it's very forgiving and takes no time to master.

First time using this, there was an area on the bag I was sealing that was not only not sealing but it was causing that part to snag and look like it was burning. I had to replace the metal strip with the extra one it came with because the one that came on it was bent, causing the bag to not seal correctly and damage it. I needed to use this right away otherwise I would return it.
