Works as intended!
I bought this product after failing to open my switches using a 3d printed PLA model. The printed plastic would often break on one of the four small notches that pry open the switch. This product so far hasn't given me any issues when opening the switches. It has good tolerance for the cherry switches to slide in place. After the switch is in place, one small press is enough to pry open the housing. Its got a matte finish to the touch with a slight sheen if it matters to anyone. Weighs like what you'd expect for a block of aluminum to be. Overall it's a great piece to buy and saves you time when you're opening 100+ switches. As a bonus it comes with a keycap and switch puller.Note: this will only fit cherry switches and will NOT open Kailh switches as seen in the photos. For reference, switches shown are Invyr Holy Panda (cherry profile) and Kailh speed silvers.

Great build quality and gets the job done!
Comes packaged in a small box with a large top and contains the following: Key cap puller, key switch puller, and switch opener. Packaging is also rather secure since there is foam that holds the switch opener.Switch Opener is of great build quality; Used this primarily for Cherry and Gateron linear switches. I was able to easily open and take a apart my switches with ease thanks to this tool. The 6 prongs are strong and durable, definitely do not see them breaking off so easily. There are also two oval shaped gaps on parallel sides of the base of the switch opener that really help with maintaining a gripe on the opener while using it.Overall, definitely recommend this switch opener for anyone who plans to open and dissemble Cherry MX, Gateron, and other similar mechanical switches for their builds.

Kind of expensive for what it is
Kind of expensive for what it is, but there are some switch openers that go for twice the price. I have no real issues with the build quality of it.They provide some 'throw-in' tools, which I have some thoughts on...The switch puller; it isn't very good. It's a thin piece of metal with no gripping ability. So it's very hard to grip the switch properly. And it'll make it very easy to damage/scratch the external housing of the switch. The key cap puller is also cheap, but it works ok (have a few of the same key cap puller from other purchases as a throw in). It works by sliding down the key cap. I don't prefer this method since it might scratch the key cap.

Gets the job done
Easily opens any mx cherry style switch, cuts down disassembly time by a ton. If you are planning on opening switches and modifying them, there is no reason not to have one of these.

Works as intended.
You could go without the cheapy pullers that this opener came with but other than that it's a must-have for all your keyboard modding needs. It's a little hard to get the switches off of the opener but other than that it works as it should. Haven't tested this with MX or something like Outemu but it works with Gaterons as advertised.

Specifically the Kailh switch opener works great, the Cherry one sucks
The Kailh switch opener works great every time. The Cherry switch opener really sucks though. My 3D printed one is way better. Half the time the switch gets stuck and it won't be opened, I have to keep repositioning. I know it isn't my technique since as I said my 3D printed one works every time.I would rate the Kailh opener 5/5, but the Cherry one 1/5 or 2/5 at best.

Saved my time and my sanity
If it wasn't for this little thing speeding up my lubing process I probably would've gone crazy. Sure, 10$ is expensive but I consider it a good investment, especially if you're going to make another keeb later on (and you will, trust me)
