They all laughed when I picked up my tiny twelve string!
My daughter and I have looked at a lot of travel guitars over the past few years and have found most of them (even the $$$$$ ones) pretty lackluster. Why I got the bug to get my hands on one of the Johnson ones, I'll never know...perhaps it was a mystical connection. Fascinatingly enough, I discovered that I could not only get a six string Johnson travel guitar but that I could actually get a twelve string model. This was either going to be very good or really tragic but at the price point, the temptation was just too great. I am happy to report that the gamble paid off. Small, yes...a bit tight on the fingerboard, yes...but a sound that just shouldn't be coming out of that tiny body, nice intonation and the true twelve string experience in a compact format. It is, as I mentioned, a sort of narrow fingerboard but I've spent a lot of time playing ukulele lately, so I didn't have too much of an adjustment to make. In point of fact, I was considering buying an eight string tenor uke but realized that the Johnson travel twelve cost less than a decent eight string tenor! I recommend this one highly. The only problem that I'm having is finding some kind of hard shell case for it so I can schlep it around...I'm still looking...I hate to settle on a gig bag as I've never really trusted them to protect the instrument.A really neat guitar...a sleeper...hope that Johnson continues to make them so that others can share the joy.

Amazing little 12-string
I absolutely LOVE this 12-string. The body is smaller than a standard size guitar, the neck is skinnier too, but it is about as long as a standard guitar. It is quite durable, and sounds amazing. I would rather play this 12-string than anything else I have own. I mostly 'strum' though, and if you were picking then the strings might be too close together for you, depending upon if you use fingers, or nails/picks. You can use a standard curved neck capo with it. I have ZERO complaints about this guitar, and you cannot beat the price either.
