what about the drip catch that some reviewers mention? is the lid too tight or is it a real problem?

The drip catch is in the way and falls off constantly. The lid won't shut if you have any more than a one layer tortilla shell. The lid on mine broke on the second use. Mine got swiftly thrown in the trash to never be seen again. A good old frying pan works much better at making quesadillas than this contraption.

Hello, can anybody tell me if the power input can accomodate 220v ? i.e. sutiable for use in the UK ?

Cord is 2 prong US. You should be able to connect a UK adapter.

Does this quesadilla maker come with a recipe book?

It comes with instructions on how to use it & a couple recipes. I haven’t found the book from our move, yet to tell you for sure. It’s very easy to use, just don’t overfill it. We do ground meat, refried beans, & cheese. Then put taco sauce on top with shredded cheese. You can use chicken or whatever you want.

Is the cooking surface 9.5" like in the pictures or 8" like in the description? The photos do not match the description.

Love this product. I use an 8” tortilla and it covers the entire surface. Makes a great quesadilla. I love that it stands up when keeping it on your counter.
