THEY HAVE AN SPECIAL OVERSIZE HEAD FOR MORE HOLDING POWER IN THE ALUMINUM . THE THREADED HOLES ARE ROLLED RATHER THAN CUT FOR 60% MORE STRENGTH. THESE MOUNTS SCREW DIRECTLY TO THE RECEIVER. THESE SEE-THRU MOUNTS ALLOW YOU TO USE THE IRON SIGHTS AS WELL AS THE SCOPE SO YOU WON'T MISS THAT CLOSE RUNNING SHOT. ALSO GREAT IN WINTER WHEN THE ONLY THING YOU SEE IN YOUR SCOPE IS SNOW FLAKES.

Wrong fitment for me...
Will not fit my Marlin xt-22...From the box, it will fit only Marlin 336, 62, 36, 444, 1893, 1895, 9, 45, 30ae, 30aw, 336c, 375, 922m, 989, & Auto 22.Also fits CVA Hawken, Marlin Auto 22, 93, 30aw, 30aw, 45, 336 375 922m 989Western Field 740Mossberg 500 & 835 (1997 & newer).Goodluck

they don't fit
the mounting holes didn't match the holes in the top of my 1895 marlin. now if the people that make the mounts that don't fit read this and want to fix it buy sending the right ones I will gladly say so very loudly and publicly

good deal
it is a good deal for the money , I used it on my muzzle loader and it does what it is supposed to do it holds the scope in place , and it is not as fancy as other mounts as leupold , but so what ? . it is a tigh fit and seems to be made well with a nice dark finish - black . I just got it so I can also use the regular sights

Does NOT fit Mossberg 500
Purchased for a Mossberg 500. Mounting holes do not line up. Says on the packaging it will work. Not without some filing and cobbing. Do not waste your time.

Works as described.
Mounts fit gun and scope perfectly. The only problem I had was that the screws were an odd size so Allen wrenches were a little small or big making it difficult to tighten down all the way (had to modify a Allen Wrench to work). Shipping was fast. Back out shooting hogs again!

They are good mounts. They do raise the scope so much ...
They are good mounts. They do raise the scope so much as to eliminate "cheek weld" and you instead get a "chin weld". Probably best to choose open sights or a lower profile scope mount.

So far so good
I purchased these for my Marlin 1895 in 45/70 so I could utilize the iron sights as well as the scope. So far they have done their job.

See Thru Rings...couldn't have asked for more
These mounts were perfect. They fit my Marlin 336, and after mounting a big scope on my rifle I could still get a wonderful look down the iron sights. I don't think you could ask for more with these.
