Wish it were primed... PAIN TO PAINT!
The gable vent is very well made, but I wish it had been primed. I removed the screen and scraped the glue off the back that held the screen so I could prime it and paint it to match our house. It was a PAIN TO PAINT!!! The screen was difficult to remove and was stretched and damaged when I removed it, so I replaced the screen with some I had around the house using a staple gun with 5/16" staples. Very nice finishing touch to our room addition.

Needed a lot of sanding
Very rough edges. Needed a lot of sanding and prep work before staining. Uneven edges that did not line up with gaps. I would have returned, but after the work I put in and how high up it was going…I just kept it.
