Unboxing I think this should have been double boxed. it was only single boxed and there was a hole in the side large enough i can put my finger in and touch the sub. but after unboxing there was no damage. design this thing is sleek looking, I love the gloss black even though it will be a pia to keep nice. Its so cute and tiny i can fit it in the corner behind my desk. connections I connected the sub to my Vanatoo T0s with a single sub cable to the lfe port on the sub. set the crossover on the Vanatoo to 125hz switched the back mode switch on the back of the T0s to bass. set the sub gain to its highest and then i can use the volume knob on the speaker to adjust the gain instead of having to go down to the back of the sub. it helped me very easily blend the sub in. you dont even hear the sub now. sounds like its all coming from the speakers. performance Its awesome. if i have the bass up to high even the little 6.5 inch driver can shake the walls. i turned it down enough to where the walls, my desk and other stuff stopped vibrating effecting the sound. How deep can this little Sub go??? How about decent output down to 30hz then still very reduced db down to 27hz but still audible . conclusion this sub is perfect for your standard 4 inch mid woofer/1 inch tweeter bookshelf speakers. its the perfect amount of added low end. it just seams like my Vanatoo T0s now have 6.5 inch woofers instead of 4 inch. they just sound 2-3 times there size.

I have a good quality two channel hifi setup in my home office (12x12) and had been thinking a subwoofer would be a great way to fill out the bottom end of my bookshelf speakers (Wharfedale Denton 85th). These are nicely resolving and crisp, driven with a Rega Elex-R, but I listen to enough music with low frequencies (ambient, techno, some metal) that I felt I could use a little rumble. No need for bowel busting bass, as we're all adults here, leave that for the home theater goons. The T/Zero was the perfect form factor, so small it practically disappears in the room. Setup was easy, long cable, unfussy placement -- if you're using banana plugs it's even easier to connect to your speaker taps. I had it up and running and configured within 15 minutes. It's placed about six feet behind my speakers near the corner of the room. You could construct a system with terrific dynamic range using this sub. In my case, all the warm midrange and detailed treble is handled by the speakers with all the low-end coming from the sub; I have the crossover set fairly high to plump up the sound. I feel it would take a lot more cost and effort to duplicate these sonics in a single speaker cabinet; my office system now sounds as good or better than my reference. A great investment.

Definitely worth it for a small system within a small space. Beautiful depth. Incredible sound. The LFE output connection is so much more superior to simple audio RCA. This is unique and a trademark to KEF. Given I use this as a dedicated sub for a turntable and preamp setup the sound is incredible!

This thing integrates well with my Triangle Borea bookshelf speakers. The sounds is seamless. You can tell it's there other than the great wall of sound. REL is designed to work best with music. I'm running two tube amps, one to my speakers and one dedicated to the REL. The sound is incredible. Sub nit in pics, but that was the whole Idea of downsizing on space, but not the sound.

I ordered this and the driver wasn't mounted correctly or got moved in shipping. I thought it might have been the break-in period. After a week of poor sound quality and a fart-like sound, I realized something else must be wrong. I turned it over and the speaker seemed like it was on an angle. I returned it and got another one. This one sounds great and is perfect for a small office. Fills the lows in perfectly with my studio monitor speakers.

If you are a music lover, have small speakers, and have a small room, you are going to love these subwoofers. I see "these subwoofers" in the plural because after you buy one, you will want two. That is what I did. I bought two of these subs in a week. In my home-office setup, these little subwoofers are the perfect compliment to my little Harbeth P3ESR speakers -- probably the best small bookshelf speakers money can buy. But like all small speakers, they cannot deliver on the low end. Two REL T/Zero subwoofers round things out completely. I could not be happier, particularly with the sale price. Now ... if you have a large room and/or are into home-theater explosions and lots of bass-driven drama, these little subs are not for you. These are for music. They disappear into the room, as good subwoofers should do. Music lovers will love these little gems. Well-done, REL.

The subwoofer for a desktop setup or small rooms! It is that good that I bought two for a stereo system.l I have a 100 years older wood floors so since the driver of this subs fires down I had too much rattling so I place them on speaker stands at the same highs of the speakers and I’m amazed!!! Get them! The blue quality is above anything in the size… anything.

I was buying a sub for use with my GOLDEN EAR BRX'S which go down to around 30hz. The BRX'S are phenomenal speakers and being used for music only and driven with a MARANTZ 1200NR Amp. After connecting the REL T/ZERO SUB per the recommended method from REL using the included connector onto both speaker wires it was making a huge difference in everything. The low end in both channels now was noticeably crisper and highlighted all frequencies and especially the drums and strings. It was filling in the low end so there was no loss in music overall and gave it a more complete sound. Wow...what a difference. Bob David

Ich habe zwei bestellt, um meine 2 Wege Lautsprecher zu unterstützen. Wenn die richtige Einstellung und Position erst einmal gefunden ist, machen die „Kleinen“ einen prima Job! ( trockener, knackiger Bass) Ich möchte sie nicht mehr missen!!!

The Rel T Zero work well as a pair. I would probably have gone with a pair of the T5i’s if I had the budget. The Tzeros do work well without over powering the room. I actually tried the first Rel Tzero on my surround sound system on the main level and it worked very well. It added a dimension to the sound that was clearly missing from the Paradigm in ceiling speakers. I then moved the unit downstairs and added a second Rel Tzero. Very happy with the fast performance of the sub. Snappy bass perfect for music. Definitely recommend using a pair with floor standing speakers.

Ho deciso di inserire in una stanza trattata acusticamente di circa 25 mq,questo splendido REL Tzero MKIII per uso HomeTheater. Da ricerche fatte e dopo svariate sedute d’ascolto ho capito che questo mini sub nel mio setup non mi avrebbe permesso di scuotere le pareti e infondo è quello che volevo, ma di farmi avvertire comunque quelle frequenze basse, estese mai invadenti, di cui si percepisce una grande qualità durante la visione di film. In precedenza ho avuto veri bestioni con coni da 300mm che per un neofita sarebbe il miracolo di Dio, ma a mio parere dopo un po’ stanca, quindi ho voluto provare un prodotto che mi soddisfi in primis in termini di spazio, ma con una buona estensione e velocità, poiché ho in progetto l’acquisto di un suo gemello, combinerò i due REL in coppia stereo in modo da bilanciare “ e non aumentare “ancora più la resa sui bassi, ricordando che non si ha nessun incremento aggiungendo più subwoofer, ma equilibrio e compensazione in quelle zone dove si creano BUCHI o RIMBOMBI. Non ha mai dato segni di cedimento a volumi elevati ma non aspettatevi che vi crepi le pareti perché per quello ci sono altri brand che lo fanno, a me interessava la qualità. La costruzione è ai massimi livelli, pur essendo un prodotto entry level, ha una qualità costruttiva pari al REL T5x o T7 di fascia e prezzo superiore ma con qualche watt in meno, infatti dispone di un amplificatore in classe D da100W con un altoparlante a lunga escursione in configurazione DOWNFIRE. Un piccolo cubo molto sordo laccato in maniera strepitosa a strati multipli con quattro piedini in alluminio strategicamente progettati alla base dando la giusta altezza per l’emissione del woofer, che in questo caso è da 160mm. Le manopole dei comandi sono a scatto, comodi per un settaggio più preciso, con il selettore di fase “ 0 - 180 e interruttore alwayson o stendby, quest’ultimo poco apprezzato ma ne parlerò alla fine. Vorrei dare più dettagli una volta completato con l’aggiunta del secondo REL. AGGIORNAMENTO (1): a distanza di qualche mese ho provveduto ad inserire un secondo REL Tzero MKIII, ma esprimo un mio parere solo ora perchè ho voluto dare il tempo necessario per farli un buon rodaggio. Ora sono collocati in posizione frontale - destro / sinistro accanto ai diffusori anteriori dove è giusto che siano, anche se in “teoria” il subwoofer può essere collocato in qualsiasi punto della stanza poichè l’emissione data da un taglio molto basso rispetto agli altri diffusori non è direzionale e quindi non si percepisce la provenienza, nella pratica però le cose cambiano. Grazie al sintoampli Marantz Cinema 50 ho la possibilità di scegliere se farli lavorare indipendenti ( DIREZIONALI ) o simultaneamente ( STANDARD ). Ribadisco ancora una volta che questi microscopici sub ingannano alla vista, con estrema pazienza nella posizione e nella calibratura al millesimo dove anche il mezzo centimetro fa la differenza, sono riuscito a bilanciare l’intero sistema 5.2.4 ottenendo grande profondità ed un’immersione maggiore mai raggiunta fino ad ora. Da una buona educazione musicale trasmessa dal mondo HI-END a due canali, si apprende che non sono le vibrazioni dei suppellettili presenti nell’ambiente d’ascolto a fare emozionare mentre si guarda un film o si ascolta musica, ma la grandezza e qualità di tutto il sistema che ci fa divertire, eppure scuotono il divano arrivando a 25/30 Hz senza problemi e senza sforzi. L’effetto è un suono morbido e profondo, merito anche del trattamento acustico, ma i REL sono subwoofer di grande qualità costruttiva e questo deve interessare. Il mio consiglio è di acquistarli in coppia anche se si decide di inserirli per l’ascolto di musica ( dove esprimono le loro migliori performance ), nel mio caso cercavo un prodotto con un ingombro veramente minimo da inserire nella catena Home Theater, sbarazzandomi di un SVS PB 2000 “ un Dinosauro di subwoofer “ questi direi che sono giusti sia per come suonano, sia per dimensioni. Ovviamente sacrificando di qualche Hz in meno, ad essere sincero non rimpiango l’assenza, se ben tarati e trovata la giusta posizione si ottiene un effetto sorprendente. Nelle foto si vedono delle Sonus Faber come diffusori, ma quelli sono per il sistema stereo, leggermente più dietro però si intravedono i diffusori per l’ Home Cinema. Vorrei aggiungere che l’inserimento di un componente con certe caratteristiche anzichè altre, può fare la differenza in termini di spazialità del campo acustico associato al video in riproduzione, infatti con questi ho guadagnato un fronte tridimensionale e più ampio, ben distribuito e incisivo dove nel gergo del’elettroacustica si chiama “ messa in fase “, si deve però spendere molto tempo e non pochi spostamenti, ma ne vale la pena. Ma sono affetti da una caratteristica a me antipaticissima, vale a dire il sistema di standby, hanno bisogno di parecchio volume per potersi attivare e a me questo non piace perche io ho l’abitudine di riscaldare un pò le elettroniche prima di alzare di molto il volume, quindi succede che loro rimangono in attesa di un input che nel mio caso si attesta a 55 / 60 di volume dove la scala ha un massimo di 98, per cui se non li arriva un bel basso non si accendono. Detto questo, devo fare ancora complimenti ad Amazon per la velocità di spedizione e un grazie al venditore Hi-Friens di Catania per avermi dato ottimi consigli Aggiornamento (2) seppur con i due subwoofer sono riuscito in maniera ottima a compensare eventuali buchi che si manifestavano quando se ne possiede solo uno, ho ritenuto provare l’esperienza ( visto il MARANTZ CINEMA 50 permette ) l’inserimento di una seconda coppia di subwoofer REL TZero MKIII collocati posteriormente arrivando così a un numero di quattro canali LFE indipendenti di cui in una stanza di 16 mq dove già ero pienamente soddisfatto, ora le quattro aree sono affidate a un subwoofer dedicato dando al suono maggiore profondità/ dinamica e in primis REALISMO, incredibile come si distribuisce perfettamente il suono con le basse che si propagano ed emettono vibrazioni nell’aria. Chi lo avrebbe mai detto che questi cubotti avrebbero soddisfatto me che provengo da coni da 30 di diametro. In questo modo ho guadagnato anche sui controlli del volume senza privarmi dei 25 Hz, che con questi piccoli REL si raggiungono tranquillamente.

I use two of them. A + B amplifier: Marantz PM6006. A: Q Acoustics 3020i. B: These two, with 120Hz crossover setting. Bougth decent SPEAKON cables + decent power cables. Under breaking in, but it worth the price.
