Smart Plug WiFi Socket Work with Alexa Echo and Google Home, Smart Timer Plug, No Hub Required, 2.4Ghz Only (13A/3120W,4 Pack)

The HBN Smart Plugs are exactly what you hope for when buying smart home gear: they work, they don’t complain, and they don’t try to gaslight you into thinking your lamp is already off. I connected mine to my Tuya hub without issue: smooth as butter. Even though they say “no hub required,” they play nicely with one if you’ve got it. Integration was straightforward, no weird rituals or firmware seances needed. They do all the usual smart plug things: scheduling, remote control, voice commands through Alexa or Google Home (because walking across the room is so 2010). And with 13A capacity, they can handle the proper stuff—not just fairy lights and scented diffusers. In short: they do what you expect, reliably, without drama. Which, in the world of smart devices, is actually kind of amazing. Would absolutely recommend if you like your plugs like your friends—smart, chill, and quietly doing their job.

These use the Tuya standard/protocol over 2.4G WiFi. If you are a standard user use the 'Smart Life' app wich will be much better than the manufacturers, this app is compatible with all sorts of software like IFTTT. If you are an advanced user you are in luck as these being tuya means you can use them in many ways including Home Assistant and even do a -very DIY- setup that would allow them use them locally (via TuyaLocal in Home Assistant) without the cloud (for privacy) or make them work with apple homekit via Home Assistant. In my case I've managed to control them locally then via apple home use the apple tv to control them remotely without using the Tuya Cloud for enhanced privacy. All of this at a fraction of the price that homekit compatible plugs would be. Also, as a nice surprise, these came with power measuring capabilities (not in the detail of the item) wich is a great addition at this price range. See picture of the power metering using the Smart Life app. Finally the plug looks nice snd clean when plugged (see pic), with a nice design and a discrete indicator light. The 4x box I got in my case comes as a 4x box (see pic) and not as 4 individuals -- so if you are looking to cheap out buying the 4 pack and split it into different presents you may be toasted hahaha. All and all a good all rounder starting pack for home automation with all that you can wish for with great options to make very tailored DIY setups.

I recently bought this 4-pack of HBN smart plugs and I’m genuinely impressed. They were really easy to set up — just connected them to my 2.4GHz WiFi, linked them to Alexa, and they were ready to go within minutes. I mainly use them for my lamps, and it’s honestly a game-changer being able to turn them off while I’m already in bed. No more getting back up or fumbling around in the dark. I just say, “Alexa, turn off the lamp,” and that’s it. They respond instantly and consistently. The build quality feels solid, they don’t block the neighbouring socket, and the app gives you extra options like timers and schedules, which is handy. For the price and the convenience they’ve added to my bedroom, these are absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

Easy to set up and works really well with Alexa.

Rubbish. Didn't connect on Easy Mode, AP Mode, HBN or Smart Life apps. Because, after all the messing around - not Compatible with my Full Fibre WiFi (for whatever reason). It would have been helpful to know this in the description before purchase and days of trying to connect. Mistakenly chucked packaging so can't return.
