This is GREAT for the Price. Easy to Use.
This is GREAT for the Price ! It works on my Windows 11 Laptop, and also my iMac, using the open source software Audacity. I think you can also use it with iMac's GarageBand program. The Cassette player Converter came with earphones and a USB-C to USB Cable to power it from your Computer. Do Not install the batteries when using the USB cord because it powers the player. Some people mentioned there was some kind of feedback when the Cassette Converter was located next to the Computer's speakers, so just plug it in and move it physically away from your computer speakers. There is a VOLUME control on the Cassette Converter. This controls the Input of the sound into your computer. I made sure the volume input was NOT overdriving the input into the Audacity Program (top right in the program), the setting for me was probably 8 on a 10 scale. (3/4 up volume). If you are going to use the Player without hooking it up to your computer then you can use 2 AA batteries not included. They actually are inserted under the flip up lid which is operated by a grey slide switch on the right side of the box.The instruction book was ok to understand but the print is microscopic. You can use your phone to take a photo and expand it so you can read it. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Player. The Earphones work but are super cheap. You really don't need them for inputting into the computer. Using Audacity under Preferences, follow the directions. Additionally you can select the -Recording Tab- in Audacity Preferences and select "Audio Input Monitoring", which will allow you to hear what it being recorded without using the included headphones. I would definitely buy another one or for a friend. Easy to use, and probably worth double the price. Enjoy

Does work, but there are drawbacks.
Well, I bought this just for a backup player besides my proper Walkman and decks to prolong their life (head wear, etc.) Surprised that they are actually now the 3rd generation (according to them). You can see the interior of this model. I do not find any lubrication inside, which makes the button feels stiff. Belts are actually good, and the gear motion is pretty quiet. BUT the flywheel definitely warped on one side, as I could see vibration when it is rotating. This also contributes to one HIGH WOW AND FLUTTER on the reverse side. I do get the following technical specification from my experiments with this little player:Wow and Flutter: (Forward) 0.25~0.33% WRMS, (Reverse) 0.35% ~ 0.5%, with a ~42Hz oscillation. Forward side is okay as expected, but I can't bear with the reverse side. Horrible.Frequency response: approximately flat in 100Hz - 12500Hz, treble have signal up to ~18000Hz, which is good, but there is NO low bass. There is barely any signal left. Therefore do NOT expect "Mega Bass" in this unit. Sound is clean, mediocre stereo separation, but at least it is stereo... Stereo is GOOD.Headphone Output: High noise floor, maybe around 40db of SNR. There is motor noise, but it is okay (not awful on my unit). There are only 4 electrolytic capacitors, but they are rated at 105C, okay. Output is not powerful, but enough to drive most of headphones.Edit (03/20/2024): I asked for a replacement and sent me a new one. This one is MUCH BETTER, with acceptable WOW & FLUTTER at 0.25%RMS, which is the average of the cheap Walkman back in the days (Low end of Sony, Aiwa, etc.) The circuit must have some design flaw, as the bass is still not present. Did modify it with better belts, add lubrication, and replace some capacitors with larger ones (due to the size limitation and there are no info about the board layout). The LAG668 chip it uses does have a default bass booster sample circuit available online, but I cannot add it due to size limitation. But, I changed the two capacitor near headphone jack from 100uf to 220uf (barely fitted), and it do have LITTLE improvement in bass response (from 80Hz to ~60Hz) but level is still lower than expected. But I am pleased now and will not touch any further unless something goes wrong.
