How exactly is it "flexible"? Can the case rotate on the armband to be viewed upside down or are they just saying you can put it on upside down?

It is a pretty basic case. I believe flexible is in relation to the elastic armband itself. The case does not rotate on the armband.

will this fits the A1136 iPod classic model?

Yes. I use the iPod Classic and it fits perfectly.

I was thinking of using this to hold the ez pass transponder (small version). 1. How secure is the electronic held in. 2. How secure is the strap. T

We use it for a work I'd badge. Never had any problems. The badge and strap stay secure

Can you remove the armband?

No you cannot remove the armband from the ipod part.
