The media could not be loaded. I have a small water fountain project where I used some leftover bricks and mortar. I noticed that even though I fully cemented the inside bowl, the cement is still way too porous and water would seep out of the bowl pretty fast at a rate of about 2 gallons per day. I searched Amazon for a solution and came across this Drylok. The price seems reasonable and I didn't need much so I gave it a go. I am very surprised at how effective this is. I mixed the powder inside the bowl itself and used a paintbrush to spread the (rapidly drying) mixture around the perimeter. This thing dries really fast (5 mins). I was able to fill it up with water just 10 minutes later and it's been holding up fine since. No more water seepage and whatever water is lost is just lost from evaporation, which is very little.Just to give you an idea of how much powder you will need for your project: This bowl has 8 gallons capacity (about 15"x15"x12 interior dimension) and I used half the bucket of Drylok to cover it. I also used a paintbrush to get an even coverage because there's no way you can smooth out an inside bowl with a trowel with a rapidly drying cement like Drylok. Overall I'm very satisfied with how this turned out. I will use the leftover powder in another fountain, it works so good.

I recently tackled some persistent water leakage issues in my basement with DRYLOK 00917 Cement Hydraulic Waterproof. Here’s my take, granting it a solid 4 out of 5 stars for its performance.Pros:Efficiency: DRYLOK delivers on its promise. Once applied, it created a robust waterproof barrier that effectively stopped water ingress in previously problematic areas.Ease of Use: The product is straightforward to mix and apply. Even as a DIY enthusiast with moderate experience, I found the process manageable.Cons:Preparation Work: The success of DRYLOK heavily relies on surface prep. I had to spend considerable time cleaning and smoothing the application area for optimal adherence.Application Thickness: Achieving the recommended thickness for maximum effectiveness required more product than anticipated, affecting overall project costs.In summary, DRYLOK 00917 is a reliable choice for waterproofing needs, particularly for basements and other concrete surfaces prone to moisture. While it requires thorough preparation and a bit of patience during application, the results justify the effort. It’s not without its minor issues, but it stands as a solid investment for long-term waterproofing solutions.

We discovered water coming in around the outflow pipe to our septic system, where it penetrated the foundation. Whatever hydraulic cement had been used to seal around the pipe back in 2004 was no longer standing up to the water on the outside of the foundation when we got heavy rains. I followed the directions on the package, and applied a layer of this over the existing material. 48 hrs later, and for the next 6 weeks, we had a lot of rain on Cape Cod. But this repair seemed to be keeping the water out just fine. We won't be back at the house again until the spring, so I'll update the review if I find evidence that the repair is no longer water-tight. But my initial experience was very good with this product.

Powder form. Come with measuring scoop and easy to mix. Sets up in about 5 minutes. Mix only small amounts so can be applied before setting. Dries black in color and very hard. Make sure your application is formed the way you want it. Can not scrape or change once set. Can paint over but requires several coats. When dry it looks like it will be very waterproof. 4 lb. Container does not cover a very large area. Probably not economically feasible to cover large areas. I put a thin coat of this product on area. Then finished filling in with concreat patch. This allowes you to cover a bigger area and works well.

Followed the manufacturer instructions for application. I used to get water seepage through cracks in my basement foundation. This allowed 20+ gallons to pool on the basement floor. After cleaning and prepping the cracks, I applied the Drylock. Basement has been dry since application.Application of the product was easy. I used a plastic putty knife to smooth the mixture into the basement cracks. Took a few days to fully dry and cure as there was still excessive moisture sitting below the cracks.

Overall it works as advertised.Dries so fast it makes you have to keep mixing with water or else only mix in small batches. Took me 8 hours to patch up the cement board joints for a shower remodel. I’m in a bit of pain the next day. Kind of wish I had just waited and got a different brand that takes longer to set.Also, the way it dries causes it to look inconsistent. If it’s too wet it doesn’t properly fill in cracks enough and just spills all over. As soon as you get the mixture the way you like and apply to a small area, it’s dried so much it’s harder to work with. Very small window for optimal use. From the looks of the way it dried in the end, when you apply it too dry, the finish is a lot more rough and brittle looking. See my photos.The inconsistency isn’t so bad for a shower job since it’s going to be covered with tile, but for exposed repairs, this would look bad. It’s fairly hard to keep the finish consistent. Use for small jobs only.
