French Phonetics: A Guide to Correct Pronunciation of French and Cahier d'Exercises

I have purchased so many books on French phonetics, and this is the best, most succinct, "work" on the subject. My search stops here: all other titles I own are now obsolete, although they have their merits. I received this title today, and within a 3-hour reading, I learned more about this subject than days or weeks of study of the other resources I own. I recommend this book to all students of French (beginning and advanced students alike), and with this book, we can all better understand the complexities of this wonderful language and tackle its most troubling aspects: phonology and orthography.My compliments to the author for this wonderful pedagogy or otherwise descriptive phonology. If an audio medium and key to the exercises were made available, this would complete the author's package and painstaking work to produce such a "masterpiece" to the study of French. Brilliant otherwise. If you are a serious student of French, you must own this book.

A great resource for learning French phonetics. I was so glad I bought this. I understand all of the aspects of the language and how they fit in with pronunciation and meaning.
