Michiko Stonewashed Caftan Dress/Cover Up

I just received and tried on the dress. I love the color, and it's not as see-through as I thought it would be which is nice.I was expecting a softer feel to the fabric, but it might be due to the dye that is in it and will likely soften with washing as it does state that it's 100% cotton. I will be washing this by hand before wearing to make sure the dye is set (I've seen other comments mention white vinegar, and I am going to try that method).There are 2 reasons I didn't make this a 5-star review.First, I have very broad shoulders and the top of the dress is a little small on me, but this is typical of many items of clothing I try on, so it's not really the fault of the makers of the dress. I just hope it's not going to shrink because the bust is a little snug on me (I wear a 40DD), but I tried it on with a camisole that has a shelf bra inside it - it might fit differently with a regular bra.The other reason is because the embroidery with the sequins isn't quite centered on bodice. If I center the point in the middle the neck is off-center, and if I center the neck the embroidery is about a 1/2" to the right. I will admit that I'm extremely picky about things being centered, so it might not be as noticeable to others looking at me as it is to me personally.Overally, I'm very happy with the dress despite the few complaints. I bought this to wear to my daughter's graduation, and I am satisfied. I will definitely purchase more items from this company as I just love their designs. Perfect for Spring/Summer.

Very comfortable, favorite for summer. I bought the purple and brown dress. The dye does bleed the first few washings with the purple so wash alone unless you want to die other delicates a pretty shade of lavender, the brown only had mild bleeding first wash and none after that.. It is supposed to be hand washed and hung dry, but I machine wash on delicate/perm press cycle and machine dry on the lighter cycle as well. The shrinkage from drying and washing on warm was very very minor, less than half an inch over the length of the dress.The brown fits slightly smaller in the arms and neck than the purple. One size fits all really varies by manufacturer but I would say these are toward the larger end. The style flares out from the arms so can accommodate a variety of body shapes. I am 5'3" and the hi-lo hits tea length to just below the kneecap, which is the length I prefer. The chest area is loose enough to accomodate 48ish bust comfortably(the purple could go a few inches more, more than that I think the brown would start pulling on the armsickle area, the purple maybe a bit larger. For those very petite in the shoulder and bust area or pear shaped, the back could be pleated and tacked with a few stitches in the center back raising the bottom of the armsickle and the neckline so it fit more comfortably. Under direct sunlight this fabric is semi transparent, in the shade it isn't.

I really like this dress. I washed it for the first time and it came out great. I checked the water for extra bleeding, but that didn't seem to be an issue. The mottled appearance really adds a textured look. The length is perfect for someone who doesn't like being swallowed up by something longer.Update - took it on vacation. Washed it before I left, washed it after I returned. The trim frayed off one sleeve, color is really washed out after only two washings. Honestly, I saw a lot cuter cover ups at the pools and beach. This one ended up feeling too long and bulky, and I did feel swallowed up. A big plus is that the arm holes are not as big as some of the cover ups, so I could wear this as a dress for dinner. Still, my advice is to grab a cute button-up cover-up no longer than knee length. They looked nice on everyone, no matter what the size.

I'm 5' 7" tall and bought this to throw over bathing suit. As a short sleeve, it's a bit fitted in shoulder area--perfect for me as I have smaller shoulders. The sleeveless versions appear more roomy in the shoulder/arm area. It is an extreme A-line, very full in the body, but I found that desirable. I'm 36dd, and it fits fine in the bust. Not see-through. It's scattered with some sequins, so I could definitely dress it up with some funky sandals, and an oversized boho bag. The hem undulates between lower knee and mid-calf. While on a hanger, I lightly ran some cold water with the shower nozzle to eliminate the packing wrinkles, which worked great. The black color ran a bit, but I anticipated that, as it's made in India. I intend to VERY lightly hand-wash it with VERY little agitation, then immediately hang it on clothes hanger to drip into laundry sink--not a problem for me.

I love, LOVE this dress. It is my 2nd Sakkas dress and I've since bought more. The color is exactly as pictured and I couldn't be more pleased. The sequins added to the already pretty embroidered bodice is absolutely stunning. It fits beautifully over my 42D frame without binding. The material is so soft and comfortable. For those of us who generally avoid "one size fits most", Sakkas dresses actually fit those of us who are a bit bigger than the average twig! My only warning... Be prepared on windy days. What makes the dress flow so beautifully can also blow right up over your waist in a strong breeze! But don't let that deter you from buying one. I promise you won't be disappointed!

I love this dress. It is just as pictured, and with a slip underneath, will be great for dancing. It is thin and cool so will be great for the hot southern summers. I will make some French knots to secure the sequins on the yoke, as they are attached flimsily, but for the price, I can do that. The sleeves are just enough coverage for an older woman with "batwings." The length of this dress is perfect for me at 5'5". It comes to my knee at its lowest point. I think it too nice to use for a coverup or a house dress, so will wear it when going out.

It looks great only if you are super skinny. Otherwise it tends to make you look pregnant. I guess it is good for pregnant moms as it is comfortable. The colour was as expected and looks lovely on the hanger. The crush-ability is an nightmare. Easy to iron and VERY easy to crush. Soft material, and probably best for beachwear so one does not care if the dress is wrinkled up or not. The good: it motivated me to lose some pounds!

After spending hours trawling the internet through retail clothing stores, I find Sakkas clothing on Amazon! I initially purchased 3 dresses from Sakkas with the idea of using them as a swimsuit cover up on holiday but the dresses are super quality, beautiful colours, cool and floaty. They are perfect for wearing as a day dress or even during the evening. The length is so flattering and looks so classy. Relaxed look with sandals or flipflops or dress up with heels. It would fit up to a 20/22 very easily. I popped it in the washing machine on a cold wash with fabric conditioner, spun at 1200 and then line dried. Wow !!! Soft and floaty and no ironing needed. Absolute bargain. Just ordered my 4th Sakkas dress...

Beautiful dress, but too short (I'm 5'2).

Purchased for a forthcoming event in a hot climate, so nice and flowing, lightweight and pretty, though not of fantastic quality, but good value for money and was as expected. Bit too see-through to be worn as a dress without a slip - ok for a cover up at poolside without. Packaging was ludicrously overdone for such an item - could have fitted a dozen in the box!

I love this dress, so comfortable, however you will need a slip under it, and I'm not a tiny girl but I find it fits large, thinking of putting some darts in around the waist to bring it in a bit. Arrived earlier than scheduled, the sequence have to be babied a bit but honestly I'm thinking of removing them all together, I may like the look without them. Overall a good buy
