I was expecting to be disappointed by this affordable shiatsu neck massager but was pleasantly surprised instead! This massager is powerful and versatile. I can apply quite a bit of pressure and it works flawlessly (even when applying more pressure than I could handle for more than a few seconds the kneading massage continues. When I first started using this massager I didn't like that after several minutes of going in one direction the massagers turned to rotate the other direction; it felt like as soon as I found the perfect spot it would change directions. With experience, I have learned that this is indeed an advantage as it prevents you from getting too into any area while ignoring the rest of the area (and thus doing more harm than good). I learned this after doing a workaround (turning off and then pack on) to target a specific area and ending up quite sore the next day. The shape of the massager is very versatile and I have used it while sitting, supine, and everywhere in between. The fact that this works in the car blows my mind. I have yet to try this but will definitely be grabbing this for our next road trip (just imagining how great this will feel on my neck after a long turn of driving is giving me chills); I would not use this while driving for safety reasons (too much relaxing and/or positioning body differently may compromise alertness). I really like the single button operating system: you really can't go wrong... and if you are not where you want to be try pushing again.A few reviewers have commented about using this to massage trigger point (aka knots). I have some scapular dyskinesis and LOTS of (experience with) trigger point. While this tool helps find trigger points and warm them up, targeted trigger point massage informed my muscle insertion and origin is still needed after in order to make true progress.Finally, I want to add that I am surprised how much I appreciate the heat function, not to increase the temperature of my body, but to warm up the muscle and improve circulation thus promoting healing.I received a discount on this product in exchange for my unbiased review and am happy I can sincerely recommend it. Stopped working in a little under two months. I opened it up; the wire that connects to the power button fell apart. Both parts are super delicate, so it doesn't seem like it can be fixed.Pros:Really does a great job getting the knots and kinks out of your muscles, without bruising and hurting them like other massagers do. While it was working, I was very, very pleased with it. I went from having near-constant chronic neck pain to having completely pain-free days like, 80% of the time. I honestly felt like a new person.Cons:No telling how long it will last. The power button is cheaply made, and that connection will fall apart eventually. I got roughly 7 weeks of near-daily use out of it.If you consider what actual massages cost, I got my money's worth, honestly. I don't regret the purchase. But regardless of cost, it should be more reliable than just a month or two of use - hence the single star.

This works well.... WHEN it works !! The On/Off button only works sometimes, and the unit is less than 90 days old. Cannot return due to outside the 30 day period. Quite disappointed :/ UPDATE: I do want to acknowledge that I have received prompt and professional customer service form the Seller and am awaiting a replacement unit. UPDATE #2. I had originally rated this as 2 stars but have now received a replacement unit from the Seller, which works fine but is much noisier than the original unit. It does do wonders on my tight neck and shoulder muscles tho. I will, again, commend the Seller for their professional attentiveness in seeing that I was a satisfied customer !

In its favor, the unit is small enough to be placed near shoulder blades of average sized female without scraping the bones. On the negative, the balls do not come close enough together to really knead the suboccipitals for me, a larger male with thicker neck would probably be satisfied. It is also very firm with vinyl that makes it hard for smaller/weaker hands to grasp and reposition. Kept it for lower back however in the past few days it seems to be losing power and groans, almost stopping. Will be checking to see if I'm within the 30 day window for returns.update: one side quit working two days before 30 day window so it has been returned

12 volt power supply plug does not attach to the pillow. The 110 volt does.

This is a really great back massager! I'm a massage therapist and I love buying different kinds of products that will help relieve tension and soreness. I've had tons of different foam rollers and I'll use lacrosse balls and tennis balls to help break up knots in my back. My girlfriend had something very similar to this and after trying it a few times I had to get my own. It's got a few settings, between heated and non-heated, and you can reverse the direction of the knobs manually if you don't want to wait about a minute for it to happen automatically. It also comes with a car charger that I keep in my car all the time in case I want a nice massage during rush hour! I'll put pretty much all my body weight on it sometimes and I worry that it'll break, but so far I haven't had an issue. I purchased this at full price and definitely would again.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this. I had a hurt thigh rear muscle I was trying to massage with it so i guess I put too much pressure on the one side of it for awhile and pretty much broke that side. My fault, I was almost sitting on it trying to get that muscle massaged on my leg! I still give it 5 stars because I'm going to order another one and be more careful. I love it on my neck and up and down my back, the warmth is a nice addition. The car adapter is a very nice addition as well, I also used it on a long car trip. However one of my sisters with fibromyalgia did not like it when she used it but my other sister loved it like me. I think it's very good for the price, which for me was $40.
