Great value and not black
I was originally attracted to these speakers because they are available in wood tone (not black). Why is virtually all hi-fi equipment black these days. I remember when I saw my first black receiver in about 1972. I think it was a Nakamichi. I thought it was kind of cool at the time. Since then virtually all equipment has migrated to black. I hate it. I don't like black at all. It is not even a color--it is an absence of color. I won't buy anything black now unless it is an insanely great unit or it is at an insanely great price. That said these turn out to be really nice. They look great (because they are not black). I don't have a super well trained ear, but they sound very good to me--definitely better than the Phillips speakers they are replacing. They are more efficient, too, but not super efficient. I'm using them as computer speakers with a Denon home theater receiver that I picked up for $20 at a thrift store. Is seems that most of my listening is on the computer these days, so I might as well have a good system hooked up to it. I also really like the rounded corners--nice touch. Be sure to get the version 2 model. The old ones are still being sold on Amazon. These have several tweaks like thicker MDF, bigger woofer magnet and improved tweeter voice coil. They are amazingly compact for a 6.5" speaker due to the acoustic suspension design. Even the grill is on MDF. It could be a bit fragile as it is so thin next to the woofer--handle with care. So happy to find speakers that are a good value. Oh, did I mention that they are not black?

Great sealed boxes for the price
I was surprised by the sound of these. They sound better than a popular pair of ported Sony bookshelf speakers that were double the price when I bought them a few years ago. They're less efficient than ported boxes but sound "tighter" and more coherent. They're pretty light but you don't want to use the included wall hook to hang these as they will vibrate against the wall at high sound levels. If you're putting them on a shelf, get a pair of speaker mats to isolate them.

Superb quality for this price point
These sound much better than expected for the price.. Applying a lowpass filter and using a small subwoofer improved the sound dramatically.

Sounds like a bookshelf speaker
Sounds like a non ported bookshelf speaker. The Bass response is reasonable. The treble/mid is quite capable if driven. I paried with a bluetooth amp/receiver and it makes a great setup for easy of use and good sound reproduction for the cost. Happy with the performance.

Rockville 2 RockShelf 68W A different look for me
They come in 4 ohms or 8 ohms, 5.25 or 6.5 woofers, and three colors, and that something that seems to be common with company; giving a variety, so I picked the white pair to match my subwoofer, I did have them next to each other and they look great, something different from my brown or black speaker setups. I think they are priced about right for their sound, and would fit just fine in a small to medium size room.I like them, a nice choice.

Suck!
The wiring sucks on these. I have a newer, modern Victrola record player with RCA jacks. Thought this would be an easy and good solution to upgrade the sound. It might be, if I could get them to work! I’ve bought 3 other types of connections so far to try and get them to work. Don’t waster your time or money.

Low priced speakers that produce much more than the price suggested.
Excellent pair of speakers for the price, they handled much better than the previous set did. With the right amplifier they are very good.
