Versatile & food safe bento box
I love that this bento box is made of food safe, quality materials. Stainless steel and high quality silicone. It's also a great idea to use the silipods for baby food purees, and then add them to the box later for sides. The silipods are very sturdy. The base feels harder than the rest of the silipod, as though it's double the thickness. This will stand on its own and not tip over. It's also sturdy enough that when you pick one up, the food doesn't come spurting out the top as it would with something not as well made. The lid fits on securely. They are about 2.5" width x 2.5" length x 2" high (about 1.5" depth of usable space once you account for the lid). The bento box is all stainless steel. I did feel the lid was a little hard to remove, but maybe that will loosen up over time. That was my only concern - if my kid can get the lid off, but a teacher is always available to help. The box is 5.5" square, but the inside is sloped, so there's about 5" square usable space at the bottom of the box.The box itself would fit a full sandwich, and maybe a handful of cut up veggies. If you use 1 or 2 silipods, there's only room for 1/2 a sandwich. So it depends on how much your kid eats, and what they take for lunch. I do think the silipods could be placed into a lunch bag alongside the box, if you have a bag that will keep it mostly upright (or if you don't fill it with something that could leak. Dry snacks, cut up fruit, or veggies would be good. Again, I'm really impressed with how sturdy the silipods are. They can hold their own. This comes in a nice box - if you're looking for a gift, this is definitely giftable.

Very good but expensive
It’s great quality and perfect for toddlers. But it is definitely on the pricey side for a simple lunchbox like that.

Very hard to open
I purchased this container for my child’s school lunch but he would not be able to use it as the metal lid is quite difficult to open.I’m rather disappointed and would not recommend this product

Awesome little lunch box set that passed high-level container testing!
I’m always in need of lunch and snack storage boxes, both for work and for home use. This Miniware GrowBento lunch box is perfect for what I need. No, there’s no baby in the house, but these storage containers are obviously multi-user and -user. Right now, I’m going to use the GrowBento as a snack box, but will use it for work during the summer months.I love the stainless because when I put it in my lunchbox, I can add an ice pack and it will keep the contents cold. The Silipods are perfect containers for things like applesauce and other runny-type foods that need to be contained. I can put an entire salad in this box and use one Silipod to hold salad dressing and the other for croutons. There are just so many different uses for the GrowBento. What’s really nice about the Miniware line is that it’s what I call “green.” Mind you, I have a long way to go to be totally green. The less plastic I am using on a daily basis, the better. There’s a decent set of instructions printed in several language. There are a few important cautionary notes and information about the GrowBento line. For example, this product has passed “high-level LFGB [German Food Container Safety] testing.” Definitely a product I instantly fell in love with!

exactly as described
This bento box is exactly as described! It's a little on the small size, but it would make it perfect for kids' lunches. The main box is stainless steel, so it's easy to clean and won't rust or break. If used with an ice pack, it would keep food cold for a long time. The smaller inserts are made from food grade silicone and have no odors. They have lids, but I don't think they are leakproof. We don't use them for sauces or dips, but they work well for smaller items like berries or goldfish crackers.

Great little snack box!
This little box is perfect for my son's snack that he has to take to school (Kindergarten). He's good eater and yesterday, this set easily fit plenty of food for him. The 2 small silicone containers are smaller than I expected, but they still fit a fair amount of small items. Yesterday, I found they actually hold the perfect amount of Goldfish crackers and raisins/trail mix for my son. They'd be great for nuts as well - anything around that size. Although I don't typically pack sandwiches for snack, the other half of the container would fit half a sandwich using regular sliced bread. I haven't tried it yet, but I think if the sandwich were flat, like PB&J, you might be able to stack both halves. The metal container seals pretty strongly so it doesn't come apart while jostled in a backpack, but my 5-year-old can still open it on his own. I was also worried that the smaller containers would shift and squash whatever was in the other half, but they are just the right size, shape, and material to not do that unless the container is shaken pretty hard.

Cute mini bento set
This is such a cute little bento box. Mostly, I do like it. The ease of cleaning (dishwasher safe!) is great! It's also easy to fit in the dishwasher, shape-wise.I feel like it's a bit small for more than snack use for older eaters, though. My other impressions after using it are about the Silipods. I wish the set came with four of them. With just two, you're kind of limited in how to set it up. They're best placed side by side with only having two. If the two Silipods are placed kitty-corner there's a gap, so they don't really work to separate the two remaining sections from one another. And with just two, they're more liable to shift around. Also, I think the Silipod lid shape could potentially prove a bit confusing to younger eaters, because it's not symmetrical and will only fit on one way. It might be nice if there were arrows molded in to help show where to line up the lid and container.Other than it being a bit small for growing kids or adults to use, and feeling like it should come with a full set of Silipods, I think it's a great set, though!
