Yes! Yes! Yes!
This book is SO good! I loved it so much I bought a copy for my Pastor, my friends and family. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone and everyone. It will TRANSFORM your prayer life and how you view your time with the Lord. It will also change how you pray and what you pray for. This is a deep, instructional, mind-blowing peek into GREAT men of God and their relationship to the throne room through their secret place of prayer.

Great read
I am a big fan of Leonard Ravenhill and when he mentioned this book, I had to have it. I was not disappointed. This is the best book on prayer that I've read.

If you are finished going through the motions of the Christian life...
The reviewer who said this book "isn't for the faint of heart" is exactly correct. Don't expect this book to coddle you or make you feel better about a lukewarm Christianity that leaves you not much different than your unsaved neighbors. If you have a sense that you need to change your priorities, you are probably ready for this book. Some of what I read here is a bit hard to hear, but in a good way. It seemed to give me just the encouragement I needed to put prayer at the center of my relationship with the Lord and to see that individual Christians and the church at large are suffering as a result of their lack of prayer.Aside of the excellent content, the imitation leather edition is just lovely. Gift-worthy. The cover is lovely and the pages are made from thick, good quality paper. I'm planning on buying a couple for friends.

Best book ever on prayer
I bought this for my husband as a gift because he is a man of prayer. I can not tell you how much he absolutely loves it. He says it is the best book on prayer he say ever read and he references it all the time. He told me to send one to my brother, so I did.

Every pastor should have a copy every person as well
Intense. Old school language some younger readers may not get where he is going or the references he uses but I thrive on his teachings. I love this so much. If you slowly read it, your prayers will change and you will be changed.

Spiritual Dynamite!
E. M. Bounds was a man who studied prayer for many years. He prayed, an awful lot. He wrote an awful lot. This book is an abridgement of E. M. Bounds' works, done by the late and great Leonard Ravenhill. Ravenhill believed, along with E. M. Bounds, that prayer should be studied and practiced. Len also believed, along with Bounds, that whoever could get the Christian church to praying would do the work of a Reformer in their generation. Len believed Bounds' writings would be exceptionally useful to the Church, but he knew few would trudge through Bounds' works. So here are the juicy bits. The book is absolute dynamite. When it arrived, I admit I was surprised at how inspiring it is. It is like petrol to a car. It's like water to the thirsty, like an English Breakfast to the hungry. It has made me want to pray all the more and with all the more sincerity. Some of it is just short, memorable, powerful quotes from Bounds. Much of it contains more extended passages, lasting about half a page. It's perfect for reading a portion or two and finding enough fuel to pray yourself. The only negative I have - and it is worthy of mentioning - is that Bounds seems to present prayer as if it is the same thing as faith. That is, unless you are praying all the time you are not believing all the time; but if you have a healthy faith, you will pray all the time. This is the way Bounds sometimes comes across, and this is an erroneous and damaging position to hold. I wonder if Bounds exalted prayer to too high a standard, a standard which is likely to lead to legalism in one's prayer life and Christian life. However, if one uses the book as simply a stimulus to prayer, remembering that Bounds is simply a fallen man - vulnerable to over-emphasis and making mistakes - then this book will greatly repay inspection.Nevertheless, alongside 'The Practice of the Presence of God', I'd recommend this for learning more about prayer and for actually progressing more into this mysterious and wonderful spiritual activity called prayer. Perhaps it's been said of many classic books on prayer, but if this book on prayer doesn't get you to pray more then I don't know what will.9/10

One of the best pray books
With all the new age prayer books about creating your own reality and personal consciousness as God this book is refreshing, filled with the Holy Ghost and verified by its convicting and inspiring nature based solidly on biblical passages. This book is convicting if you know the Lord Jesus Christ and have recieved the Spirit of promise while living in this backslidden time. The only book other then the bible that i know to be near its caliber is the life of prayer by A.B.Simspon. buy and extra copy... Or 10 to give to others

Power Through Prayer - A Shorter Version
Leonard Ravenhill was so blessed and inspired by E. Bounds’ Power Through Prayer that he shortened it to make it more readable but included every truth about the necessity for prayer that Bounds would have wanted. It is a most wonderful and absolutely vital book for every Christian who wants to take prayer seriously.
