Cormac McCarthy 3 Books Collection Set (The Road, Blood Meridian & No Country for Old Men)

Blood Meridian is the only one of this collection I've read so far and I loved it. Absolutely haunting story that I haven't been able to shake off since. If the other two are half as good I'll be more than happy with my purchase. I want to read everything Mr McCarthy has ever written.

Just to get it out the way the version of books I received weren’t the ones pictured which is a shame because I like the art style but I guess it doesn’t really matter. Currently reading The Road and I find its lack of chapters and stanza style layout oddly freeing. Being able to pick it up and put it down without forcing myself to get to the next chapter. Although it wouldn’t be a problem if it had them because it’s an enthralling book. I’m certain the other books won’t disappoint

I can see what all the fuss is about with Cormac McCarthy and why he's now considered one of the greatest American writes of the century.I've now read all three and devoured every one. Although they're sold collectively they're not a trilogy or connected in any way. Out of the three I would say Blood Meridian is the hardest to penetrate and you need to get used to his style of writing. I had no trouble with it, but I know many struggle. It's very sparse with little or no punctuation and the some of the sentences are as long as paragraphs.The remaining two have a more traditional narrative and are much easier to read. The Road is probably my favorite and one of the finest novels I've read in my life. It's profound and poetic. I found myself weeping toward the end and I haven't done this since reading George Orwell's Animal Farm the first time.

Brought on 25th and was here by 28th! Good for books because my other ones weren’t so fast, the quality of the books are really good and I love the books in general.
