Poor fit between layers, latch fails if stack wobbles....
Not a finished product (in my opinion.) Proof of concept perhaps - now make it work and fit. Bottom or base flexes and does not provide positive base seal for upper parts. If fit is not good, the stack rocks and the latch is useless. This is for solid dry items only. Crumbs and liquid are not secured in this container. No seal between units.

Dissapointed
After lots of research on the best SS lunch box, I purchased 3 different ones to try out - this one for me, a lunchbots for my daughter and the 4 tiered circular tiffin for my hubby. The Planetware 2 layer was by far the worst of the bunch. The main problem is the depth - the way it stacks, there is no depth to the compartments because the top compartment sits inside the bottom and the tray sits inside the top, taking up valuable real estate for food. Plus you have to use the system as it comes, with the tray, because otherwise it wont close. But none of my lunch food fit. Things that did not fit: chicken drum stick and a hard boiled egg, a wrap - I was surprised I couldn't even fit an egg in the bottom compartment - but alas, no. Granted, the lunchbots didn't fit the chicken drumstick either and they are tiny, but they seem better suited to snacks. If I am going to carry a 2-tired system, I want it to at least fit something! The 4 tiered system has worked best so far for the food we eat - its a little big, but everything fits and there is even enough space and compartments for breakfast as well.

Awesome!
I love this lunchbox! I'm glad I chose it over the other choices! Both of the other reviews are exactly right! My 13 year old son will love it because it looks like he's going camping. It's hard to find something safe, Eco and teenage friendly but this is perfect!

Beautifully made!
I have been looking for a couple tiffin boxes for my husband and I to reduce our exposure to plastic. I researched for literarily HOURS and stumbled across these. There are no reviews yet, so I was quite leary, but none of the other stainless boxes were exactly what I was looking for, or there were things about them that were not desirable. For example, many were reported flimsy, or had sharp edges, the latches easily broke or they were very tiny. I found these, and they sounded perfect, so I took the chance. I also reviewed a you tube video the company has put out, very well done. Search you tube to find it. First, shipping was FAST! I got them priority mail in 4 days. They each came inside a neat burlap drawstring bag. I pulled each one out and wow!! Beautiful! Super shiny, heavy made, and compact but big enough for an adult sized lunch. Each came with a serving tray and two nice sized containers that once the lid is put in place, the heavy latches easily snap it all together. EACH edge is rolled, not folded and flattened, but ROLLED so absolutely NO sharp edges. They are super sturdy. They have a nice weight to them, but are not heavy. They fit perfectly in our insulated coolers (I know!! Plastic! But not touching my food) with an ice pack. I can't wait for tomorrow so I can use mine!! Thanks Clean Planetware!

Too small for a sandwich - or much of anything
I was very disappointed when we got our new Clean Planetware lunch boxes in the mail. The dimensions listed on Clean Planetware's website say 4.7 in. x 7.1 in. I mistakenly assumed these were the interior, usable space dimensions and that I could fit a 4 inch square sandwich in the container. It turns out they are actually the outermost dimensions - all the way to the edges of the lid. The dimensions at the interior bottom of the container, where my son's sandwich would need to fit, are actually 3.75 in. x 6 in. Also, although it is called a "2-layer" container, it is actually 3 layers, because it has a tray that is set into the upper layer. This makes it so neither of the two main layers is deep enough for anything with any height to it. If you do not eat sandwiches or hard boiled eggs or anything that's more than about an inch tall, and you eat very little in general, I suppose this lunch box might work fine for you. I returned the ones that I got and bought some LunchBots containers that we're quite happy with.

A nice alternative to plastic!
I have a set of stacking round stainless containers that I love taking on trips with me - they are great for lunches containing multiple foods as well as carrying raw grains on trips where I'll need to cook. However, I wanted a rectangular set so I could take sandwiches to lunch during the busy holiday season. I chose this container set based on the great reviews at amazon.com. I'm impressed, overall. There are two compartments and you can put an open faced sandwich in each one, or two halves of a sandwich. It's also great for transporting rice and veggies, etc. Anything you can imagine. Despite the overall size being compact, there's a lot of room inside. There is also a flat tray included that would be perfect for sliced veggies, apple, nuts or whatever other little snack or side dish you might want to include. The boxes snap together with clamps on the size that are easy to use. I did have some trouble with my set, the snap closure failed early on. I wrote to the company and got an immediate response. They took care of the problem immediately and assured me that the metal failing was a complete fluke, which I am fully inclined to believe based on how well made the product is otherwise and by how quickly they were willing to stand behind their product. I would recommend this item for anyone who is looking for a clean, non plastic alternative for lunch transport. They are attractive and seem like they will last a long time. I am happy with my order.
