Too bad..
The media could not be loaded. After resolving receiver problem and doing the basic CleanFlight setup... both port (left) side motors did not turn on. Tested the motors and the wiring but both were fine. The OSD board was rapidly flashing green, could not connect to CleanFlight thru USB , or even beep appropriately on start up. We bought the $57.00 main board and replaced it. Everything was fixed and after another moderately involved setup, using a Radiolink AT9 transmitter and a R9D receiver, I got to fly it a couple of hours. I liked it's flight characteristics and features.Does not have the power I expected compared to my Eachine 250 racers which are similar class.. also similar motors and weight. The Vengance has very respectable forward speed at full power and level flight. It definitely needs to be flown with utmost respect as it can develop pretty high impact energy. It features an OK low voltage warning audible alarm that really should be a bit louder. A very good OSD low-voltage warning uses the voltage display and flashes which more than makes up for the audible alarm if you're minding your monitor. Flashing LED's for low power and orientation would be a good mod as it does have a great range. The OSD is pretty good with clear and long range video with VTX at 250mw. It provides a rich and organized full sensors and attitude display. We tested to 800 meters in clear dry air at 78F and 50AGL (1300ft msl) over open field with scattered small bushes and 25' trees. It maintained excellent flight camera reception. Camera and gimbal are very likeable. Having the gimbal on the racer can be quite useful once you get used to using it. I'm using this part on my own project builds. Some Humble Flying Tips: It is a little different to hover because of the inclined motors, but remains very manageable if you have some experience. I flew for the first time in 7 knot wind and found it easy and enjoyable to fly. It really wants to go forward ! Also... it needs aggressive extra power to slow rate of decent on slow approaches. Mounting the battery and other components is free style with no specif designated stops. When mounting the battery consider what is likely to happen to the other components in a crash. On the first hard landing: The camera and mount fell off due to impact of battery mounted with straps just behind; The front right motor stopped working; It will no longer connect to CleanFlight; Does not beep on startup and has a flashing green light on the OSD board. I cannot find documentation anywhere online to help diagnose any further. It could be that the board has physical damage or that it needs be reset somehow. The same problem it had with the factory board right out of the box.Having invested over $400US on this little machine, and having enjoyed flying it albeit briefly, I can either salvage it for parts or try to repair again. I will buy one more main board and see how it goes. I wish someone had made me aware of the potential issues with this racer before I started. Cool concept and features, but I certainly cannot recommend it to anyone based on my experience.
