River Country 4" dial Adjustable BBQ, Grill, Smoker Thermometer Temperature Gauge (50 to 550 F)

Years ago, I installed an “industrial” thermometer on my Weber Smokey Mountain smoker (back before they came w/ factory-installed ones). That thermometer could not be calibrated, unlike the River Country one. Within a few years, it became wildly and unpredictably inaccurate. Installation of this new one was a 20-second affair, as the hole I’d previously drilled was the correct size for this. Off with the old, on with the new. The 4” face is easy to read, the calibration was spot on out of the box (I tested it), and it works fantastically well. No-brainer, people.

Purchased the 4" model to replace the OEM Weber gauge in my 18.5 WSM. Used a step drill bit to widen the existing hole to 13/16 inch. Took my time and it only took a few minutes to complete. Out of the box it was 15 degrees off when testing with boiling water at 212 degrees. Used a small flat head screwdriver to dial it in. A little disappointed that it was not accurate out of the box. Much easier to read than the original Weber gauge. I will still use my Maverick ET732 for overnight smokes but for early morning smokes this is all I will need.

This is a great mod to the Weber WSM 22.5 smoker. Allows for easy monitoring.Pros: Easy to read. Adjustable (very important)Cons: None.

replaced my factory-installed thermometer on my pellet smoker and I love this one much better I did have to make the hole bigger but it was well worth it.
