my hummies FAVORITE
I welcome MANY hummingbirds to the 6 feeders I provide around my house. For about 8 years now, I'm solely using these lovely ruby faceted glass SE4000 models. I, a hummingbird by nature, was initially attracted to them by the RED GLASS & classy brass colored covers. Since been proven to be THE choice of my hummie families. Even in desperation when 1 of my feeders crashed onto concrete driveway this Spring & broke, I reached for an old clear glass feeder with large red plastic bell shaped flowers from storage; the nectar did NOT go down, the hummies were NOT frequenting it --> ordered a replacement of the go-to feeders & all were again happy & chugging!!

Best Hummingbird Feeder!
This is an amazing hummingbird feeder. I have the same feeder that I received as a gift three summers ago. It is still red and beautiful. This summer I purchased another of these feeders because after trying a couple of other varieties of hummingbird feeders, I have learned that this is the feeder my hummingbirds prefer.I saw a couple of negative reviews on this feeder, but I have had perfect success. The color remains lovely, and the hummingbirds battle over the rights to these feeders. They are better than most other feeders at keeping out yellow jackets, but a yellow jacket will get into the feeder from time to time. Other than that, it is a fabulous feeder and combined with a few flowers, there is no better way to attract hummingbirds to your garden.

Hummingbirds love this feeder!
Absolutely stunning bird feeder. Beautiful in yard and the birds love it. Copper bottom is one piece so they sit and stay for a few minutes. No worries about them getting stuck as some people have said w/ other perches. I bought red semi flat umbrella for shade and the elements. I had to take it off for a few days, maybe they were scared, it is back up and enjoying it now. Worth the price.

I have great success with this feeder
I have great success with this feeder. Wish there was a feeder with an all metal bottom. BP free or not, plastic heated up past 99 degrees is not a healthy thing for any reason. Haven't found such a feeder. Love the glass, quantity and continual perch. Multiple birds often perch together despite efforts of some trying to guard it. Sometimes I fill it before the day is over. Use q-tips to clean crevices of plastic dish and keep the mold away.

Beautiful but doesn't work well
Hummingbirds seem to not be able to figure out how to use it. They keep trying to go underneath it, and when a hummingbird does actually go to the little holes in the feeder, its like the nectar is just out of their reach or something? So far the cheap plastic hummingbird feeders seem to work better. With this one, sometimes the hummingbirds will come and look at me after trying to feed, like they're trying to say "Hey, whats the deal with this feeder, it doesn't work"!

Red Paint Washes Off with Washing.... :(
I was so disappointed to find that the two feeders (one red and one purple) that I purchased late last summer from Web Tree Shops (fulfilled by Amazon) were not colored glass... but were instead painted glass. The paint literally peeled off onto my hands as I was washing them. The hummingbirds loved them, but these feeders were definitely not worth the premium price considering they only lasted one or two months at the end of last year's season.

NO color problems!!
I have purchased four of this style hummingbird feeder through Amazon (3 Ruby and 1 Cobalt) and another Ruby Spiral version (also Schrodt). The most recent was three years ago. NONE of these have had the color problems that several reviewers have mentioned. Several of them are in full hot Colorado sun for several hours a day. No problem with the copper base either (and it is very effective at keeping out hornets and wasps). The hummingbirds love these and routinely fight over the three that we currently have up. I don't think they have a color preference, but it is two to one, Ruby to Cobalt currently. One word of warning, they do not mix well with concrete from any significant distance.
