We bought this to make sure the basement door doesn't accidentally shut while the cats are down there -- works great! You can move it further or closer to the hinge to determine how wide the door stays open.

I needed something to keep my office door propped open - it drives me insane that it closes automatically. I use this on the top of the door near the doorjamb and it keeps the door about halfway open! I wasn't sure how it would work because it seemed most reviews just wanted it kept open 2-4 inches to prevent finger pinching, but I'm pleased to say it works to keep the door propped open further, too. My door is incredibly thick (2+ inches), but it stays on well and is easy to put up and take down. I can adjust where it is on the top of the door to determine how far the door stays open. I haven't had a problem with it popping off the door even though my door is so thick.

This has worked very well at preventing my toddler grandsons from getting their fingers shut in their bedroom door they like to open and close when playing. I think it works better when used on the side of the door instead of the top.

Keeps door from closing. Works as it should. We use it so the cat has access to the litter box without the door closing on her.

It would work well except I gave a thicker door (2in) apparently. Easy to put on and remove. You can put it on the side or the top of the door.

We bought this as a way to keep our bedroom door open. The door closes on it's own and needs adjusting at some point, but this works in the meantime. We can move this device to be close to the frame to keep the door wide open during the day, or closer to the other end at night so it stays open just enough for our cats to get in or out of the room, but closed enough to minimize light/sound bothering someone sleeping in the room. It fit our door well and seems sturdy. We've had it for over a year now and it shows no sign of wearing out.
