The concept is good, but the execution is just a bit off...The plastic shield that cover the wires to the adapters move too much... They go so far down that it gets to be problematic to fit the adapter onto the drive...it may be a simple product, but it could have been perfect, with a slight redesign.

I had purchased this to run from the IDE optical drives at the top of my case, to the add on PCI IDE card which sat in the bottom of the case. But it didn't reach; for some oddball reason, the drive's plugs are very far apart, and the extension isn't. So you can have your IDE drives about a 18 inches apart, but the end of the cord won't reach the bottom of the case. Might be useful some day so I'll keep it, but if you're buying it to connect two optical drives in drive bays next to each other, you're going to have a long length of this between those two drives.

The cable seems pretty cheaply made. The labels/pullers are made from paper with some kind of white backing. When my cable arrived, this backing had hardened and started to disintegrate, resulting in tiny little snow like flakes all over the cable. Definitely do not want to be putting that inside a case. Paid $12.85. Bought a 24" and a 36", both the same. Purchased better quality cables for <$4.00 in the past. Buyer beware.

This is an excellent cable and is made with good craftsmanship. I would buy again if I needed another one..

I Ordered this when I ordered a new dvd burner. My old flat cable was to short and it made it very hard to plug my burner in. this round cable is very flexible and made for a very easy install. Had it now for a couple of months and it works like it should. I'm going to buy one more of these.
