CCNA 200-301 Official Cert Guide, Volume 1

For anyone wondering this is the newest version for the 3.0 test published in 2016. The book was a little bit roughed up and smelled funny but it did travel all the way from India. Haven't yet tried the online material. If you want to save some cash this is the way to go, table of contents are exactly the same as non-international version.

This book is a marvel, and written for anyone getting into Cisco Networking. I was a fan of Todd Lammle when studying Network+, but his CCENT material was very off putting. I purchased this as a replacement, and it was like night and day. Shorter chapters to digest the content easier, simpler wording, and reintroduction of some subjects throughout the book to keep your mind refreshed on what you learned previously.I did not end up taking the exam as my priorities had shifted towards the end of the book, but I am still very glad to have read it.

Odom's convoluted, wordy and dry writing style unfortunately muddles his in-depth expertise knowledge of networking, i.e. repeated usage of the same words (define and function) within the same long sentence sometime 2-3 times! Consequently, what can be articulated eloquently within a page instead drags on for several pages. After a month of slogging through the book, I discovered, belatedly, that the accompanying CD had light wears (as expected) but also one visible crack on the back rendering it unusable!

HiIt says in the book that the DVD contains NetSim Lite application. However it only contains the appendixes. So if you help me with that is gonna be great and I'll be thankful.Thanks

Same book as the class but the disc in the back of book did NOT work, very disappointing.

CD ROM was not recognized by two different laptops nor my pc (all drivers up to date). Continuous run around from Pearson and CISCO press. One place sends me to another, customer support sends me to another. bottom line: if not bought directly from cisco or pearson there is NO support. The book expects you to follow along with the CD ROM. So, buy it from their site and get the download instead.

I got the book yesterday and found there is no Network Simulator Lite include in the DVD disc. Do I miss something?

Odom has exaggerated things, making it boring and difficult to understand .I was expecting to the point things, but it is not there in this book. Very disappointed.

The media could not be loaded.  Brand new book delivered in good conditions.The activation has not been used.It's perfect.

Syllabus Covered - This is the most important thing for any student at any level. This book is covered full syllabus by Cisco. Additionally it also covered some other topics. According to me you should go for it without any hesitation.Price - As we concentrate on the price of this book or we compare it with the books of Todd, big difference. When I am saying big difference then do not compare it with the old editions of Todd's books. Compare it with the latest editions of the Todd's books. Big difference. So as i said above, it covers all the topics by Cisco, so price is quite beautiful if we talk about Certification books.Material - This is one of most important factor in terms of books. First of all it is Paperback book. When you look at the price of this book, you will be glad. But when you purchased this book, then you feel that why the price this book is quite low. Because the quality of the pages are average. Average means average. Neither too good nor too bad. I can bet you can not say that the quality of the pages are very bad. Because it more than that. So the quality of the pages are so - so.4 Star - 4 Star only because of above paragraphs last line { Therefore no 5 star }.
