French Press Coffee and Tea Maker - Press Pot - Borosilicate Glass Carafe and Stainless Steel Plunger

I purchased this French press as a replacement for another one (another brand) I had been using. The first indication I had that this company, and its product, was going to be a cut above most others was when I received an e-mail from the company letting me know I should be receiving the French press shortly. Then there was a follow-up e-mail making sure I had received it and that I was satisfied.As for the French press itself, I am more than pleased. It is a good weight. The quality is excellent. Yes, as another reviewer said, it is "just" a French press but, as with anything else, it is better than a lot I've used in the past.The only negative I could say about it -- and it isn't enough to mark it down -- is that the plastic carrier does expand slightly when hot. It isn't enough to worry it will slip out when pouring from the French press. However, if you remove the carafe for cleaning, you do need to make sure the plastic is warm in order to slide the carafe back into place. I happen to like that because it means the carafe won't slip out when you don't want it to.All in all, an excellent French press, especially when you consider the price. Highly recommended.

We love coffee!! We love coffee!! That's why you and I buy French presses, as opposed to using those little cups that spit out coffee quickly and easily. Really??? When we can have the deep, rich flavor of coffee made in a French Press? Pshah!! I was looking for French presses on Amazon (thanks Amazon for having everything in one place!) and saw this cute little French press with a coffee bean riding a bike. Zippy, like I am after a couple cups of great Joe. I looked at all of the French presses on the site. And decided to go with the entrepreneurial spirit of a father/son team who also love a great cup of coffee. Those weren't the only selling points for me. The glass is thick for a reason, which is explained, and there's not a lot of metal to be bend out of place after a time of loving my Press. Thick, durable plastic. Good price. So, okay, I'll give it a try. (Obviously, since you're so good at reading between the lines, you can tell that not only did my last French press get misshapen, but the thin glass cracked and broke. Just because. No drops or oopses, it just decided to break. My heart...) I received a notice from MateoJo, in addition to Amazon, that my French press was being sent. I received it in 3 days - was expecting an M16 flyover with how quickly it came. Nice. But let me tell you the best part. Yes, it was wrapped well and intact when I opened it.But Aaron and Dylan do LOVE their coffee, and they proved it to me - there were explicit instructions on how to make the best cup of coffee, ever. Including wrapping my new BFF in a hand towel to make sure the coffee didn't cool quickly. Taking care to grind the beans just right. How long to let the wonderfulness steep. There's even an insert with who and how they are, and their mission statement "Good work. Job done. My pleasure." What modern day anyone can't align with that?So, I LOVE my MATEOJO French Press. Hot coffee, iced coffee, with my favorite blend from Durango Joe's - I saved this coffee, didn't want to waste it in my temporary coffee maker - what lengths we'll go, right? Thanks, guys! I've been singing your praises, and enjoying the best coffee I've had since. Well, since Europe. Cheers to you!

This thing is cheap, and you get what you pay for I guess. The glass carafe is thin and poorly made, it cracked after about 3 months of use. I poured in the hot water and I heard a "pop". I picked it up and the was a huge cracked running up the side. I will be looking elsewhere for a new one.

Makes delicious two cups of coffee when you follow the directions. You can also get creative with flavoring you can buy on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_17?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=liquid+coffee+flavoring&sprefix=liquid+coffee+fla%2Caps%2C178) This is by far less expensive the the flavored creamers you get in the store.I always buy the sugar free as that it better for my health in many ways. The tastiest coffee I consume daily, 1-2 6oz cups from my favorite organic beans ground fresh daily, is made by me in one of my 2 French Press Coffee Makers! My original 6 year old French Press was unavailable for several days when I decided to purchase the MateoJo French Press. An excellent decision on my part! The coffee I'm sipping as I write this review is exquisite to my taste buds. Thank you MateoJo!I know the love I receive from my new acquisition is due to the loving care with which each part was made. I believe in showing appreciation to my MateoJo French Press Coffee Maker by washing her gently by hand and telling her she fulfills her purpose beautifully in my home. Her purpose is to continue making wonderful tasting coffee, efficiently and easily. She seems happy with my compliments and responds accordingly. Maybe that's why my original French Press turned up the day I received my new MateoJo?! A little jealous perhaps, as I put my 6 year old coffee maker back on the shelf?

I selected this item for two primary reasons - the price was attractive and it is made of glass. I was very pleased with the quality of the construction and it makes a great pot of coffee. Their website has lots of helpful information. If I have a complaint, it is a minor one. The information packed in the box does not have cleaning instructions (hand wash) and does not mention that the plunger comes apart for easy cleaning. I did find this out on the web site but I feel that it would have been better if it had been included with the press. The customer service is very responsive and I am very happy with my purchase.
