Squier Mini Stratocaster Electric Guitar, Shell Pink, Laurel Fingerboard

The guitar is gorgeous. Perfect to inspire my daughter to grab it and play it. That’s what I was looking for in her first electric guitar. She loves it! It is very well made, everything is in place and came ready to use. No setting was necessary, strings action, intonation, nothing. It came all set, which I love. The sound of the pickups, not the best, is ok and expected at this level. I appreciate it doesn’t have any noise, for which I suspect the guitar comes with its cavities already shielded, but I would have to confirm if I ever make a pickup/electronics upgrade to it. All in all, this guitar is a perfect start. Perhaps it is a little bit pricier than I would expect, but it is ok. Better to have the children inspired, than having an unused/forgotten instrument.

I don't know why people complain. Frets are pretty darn good. Electric works. I'll give her a fine tuning after she acclimates to our humidity.With her solid guts, after I tune her, she's gonna be just fine. I might change parts if my wife wants (this is her axe), but I think with will be a fine instrument.

We got it for our daughter this Christmas and it is just the cutest thing. Look professional, so well made. She loves it and is loving learning on it.

You can fall in love with 22.7 scale necks. Especially how fender does them. They make the nut a little thinner too. That makes really complicated chords.... stupidly easy. Lots of guitarists have figured this out. Tone chasers have figured out smaller scale guitars with 10's on them sound absolutely amazing. It's the reason it's hard to find older Duo-Sonics. Even the ones made in Mexico in the early 90's are disappearing. They sound SO GOOD. And the only reason, is less wood.So here's my mustang with the neck stolen from the last version of this guitar that came with maple fretboards. And yes, it sounds absolutely amazing. You can take the neck off this guitar and put it in any strat style pocket. If you have a 25.5 scale guitar, you probably won't even have to change your intonation. You'll just have 22.7 scale now. If you are like me and wanted a small scale mustang, you'll have to relocate your bridge like I did. Unless you find an old duo-sonic from Mexico from the early 90's with the 22.5 scale neck, and commit a travesty taking it apart. I didn't mind moving the bridge. Looks punk rock."why not just buy a neck"go price one. Then price this guitar. You save 200 bucks. That's why.And simply put, it's must be really hard to mess up a 22.7 scale neck because the ones fender uses on these mini strats are amazingly good. Especially the newer ones with the rosewood fretboard. I just have one of the newer squire mini strats because they sound amazing. In fact, this might just be my favorite neck now. You get used to it, and in my case, start preferring the scale. I have four small scale guitars now. J&L and CNZMusic make 22.5 scale guitars with wide necks. They aren't bad. Their mini jazzmaster is awesome. But the neck isn't as good as these are. They feel good but not this good.If you want a mini strat, this is a great guitar. If you want to steal the neck for a small scale project mustang or strat or some other fender guitar with a reguiar 4 bolt plate, it's amazing for that.Hope this helps.
