If you have problems with the gas valve shut off kit, you must replace the entire unit with the 70-742-Kit which includes a new gas valve. Other explosive gases detected by the gas sensor but not UL tested include acetone, alcohol, butane and gasoline fumes. The carbon monoxide sensor is very sensitive to CO gas and will not react to most other gases.
