Cool little LED light for a decent price.
I've now bought two of these, and I quite like them. The first one I bought as a desk lamp to illuminate my keyboard and my calculator when studying for online classes at night in a darkened room. After using it for a few days I decided to get one for my bedroom nightstand as well. There are three modes on this light, a "Daylight" mode where the color temperature is pretty white, a "Soft" mode where the color temp is very close to an incandescent soft white bulb, and a nightlight mode which is similar in color temp to a 7W incandescent night light bulb. In addition, all three of these modes allow you to adjust the brightness by a fairly large range. One great feature is the light remembers the last mode and brightness setting when you turn it off so if you run in one mode, that's what comes up next time you turn it on and you don't have to cycle through the modes every time like some products I've used. It does not however remember this setting if it completely loses power. The product feels pretty sturdy, and the base is heavy enough to allow you a pretty full range of adjustment of the arm without fear of it tipping over. Sometimes when using it as a keyboard light I'll get it 2" above the top of the keyboard, almost completely flat. Very handy for reducing glare in a dark room. The power cord is a USB cord with a barrel connector. I'm a little surprised they didn't just go with micro USB but it's just fine. You can power the lamp off a computer, I'm actually running one of my 2 lamps on a USB hub. It also comes with a little power brick like comes with an iphone, and that brick has 2 usb jacks so you can plug in the lamp, and charge a USB device at the same time. Kind of nice if you had to use up your charger wall outlet to plug it in. There is one improvement I'd like to see. The arm only articulates on one plane, so you can move up, down back and forth, and tilt the light towards and away from the base, but you cannot twist it side to side. Having a little swivel on the top hinge would be a cool feature. It's not too big of a deal because the LED's are well recessed so you don't get direct glare, but would be a nice feature to have. Other than that I am pretty happy so far with both of the units I bought.

Very nice for a nook.
I like the compactness of the lamp. It can be folded down and tucked away when you don't need it. You can plug it into a USB port for power when you can't get to an outlet. The various modes of lighting are nice as well as the dimming feature on each mode. This is a great light for a little nook to work on your computer, read a book and keep a very small carbon footprint. This will not give enough light for a large desk or corner lighting. The only issue I had was with the adapter for the outlet. The light plugs into the usb port on the adapter that allows it to be used with a power outlet. It is very well made but I found it to be poorly designed. It turns into a two inch power plug that you have to work around if your outlet is behind a piece of furniture. It is perfect to just plug into a computer to finish some work or an outlet next to a cozy chair to read a good book. The ability to fold it up and pop it into a drawer or under your bed is a huge bonus. It is very light and extremely well made. I was very impressed with the workmanship and the sleek modern lines and since my home is neither sleek nor modern I love the tucking it under the chair ability.

Nicely Made. One Shortcoming. But You May Not Care.
I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. It's a good lamp. There are three color modes. The warmest is much like an incandescent bulb running at low voltage, quite warm. Nice for atmosphere. The "white" mode is typical LED, somewhat harsh but very good for detail work. The middle mode uses both color LED's simultaneously, and it's quite a pleasant reading light. They're LED, and they don't fool you. But they're not inferior, just different. My only gripe is that same as other reviewers. I use it as a bedside light, and they indeed should have put the power touch spot somewhere other than lined up between other functions. It's okay turning it on. You just slap at the base, and it comes on. But turning it off blind usually begins with hitting one of the other functions first. But I understand the economics of putting all the functional controls on one board, and this doesn't bother me much and probably won't bother someone using it as a desk lamp at all, since they will be looking at it when they turn it off. The build feels good, not cheesy at all. I feel it's a good deal for the money.

Nice desktop computing light!
Great lamp for my needs! Nice looking and the controls are basic - not too many choices; which is good. I work in a low light office since I'm on the computers all day. The 'yellowed' light is a soft/non-glaring light and is great for lighting the keyboards/paperwork without eye strain. The led head is narrow and provides good movement/adjustment and I can place it between several monitors since it has a small footprint - both top and bottom. I got rid of my incandescent lamps on the desk; this lamp does the job nicely. I am contemplating ordering another. (I have a large desk with 3 keyboards/monitors.) I also like the USB built into the charge head. The ONLY small (non-deal breaker)... the cord is approx. 4 feet. Not a big deal; I can live with that considering what I'm getting in return. And you can't beat the price of this lamp! Cheers

Dead on arrival electronically, mechanically it felt of average build quality.
This review has been updated. The update is at the bottom. --Original review follows-- Zero Stars if i could.. Item came packaged new in a box, arrived in a nice short amount of time. Item did NOT work at all. When plugged in the effect of touching the power on button was exactly the same as if it was unplugged. I swapped out the wall wart with a known good one. The light still did not work. I was unable to swap out the cord since the cord is a proprietary power cord. I did not contact seller to have them replace since I was unsure how long it might take and did not want my 30 days to run out with Amazon. I returned it to amazon immediately. FYI, Out of 32 items purchased this year through amazon, this is my 2nd return. I do not like to return goods. Otherwise the product seemed to be constructed mechanically well. Even though it did not work electronically, it did flex well and I fully expected it to work and to keep it up until I plugged it in. I would like the cord to be an easier to replace one, perhaps of a standard type, so that if it didn't work for some reason I could easily find a replacement (for example, a USB 3 cable might work). Update 18 JAN 2016, After the initial review the seller contacted me and asked what they could do to help. As i had already returned the product to Amazon, I ignored them. A couple of weeks ago they contacted me again and asked if they could do anything to increase my opinion of them, they offered sending me a unit to test. I accepted and I have received another LED Desk Light from them. This light is packaged identically to the last one, the packaging is very sufficient for a product of this weight. The light works perfectly. The light isn't as bright as a 60 watt bulb, but if you are concerned about brightness it would help if you understood how bright an led will be depending on the power it consumes. If you want the brightest lamp look for more wattage, some of these lamps list as much as 18 watts (though I believe those include 5 watts for a USB jack on the lamp). If you were to look at a 10 watt LED lamp and a 5 watt one, the 10 watt lamp is definitely brighter (if other parts of the lamp are equal). That is NOT the lamps fault. Just as a 60 watt incandescent bulb is brighter than a 50 watt bulb (of equal type!), that isn't the bulbs fault. The consumer must understand what they are buying. This lamp has multiple modes. Pressing the "M" switch changes the lamp brightness and 'temperature' using 3 modes. Pressing the "+" or "-" switch changes it through 4 levels. The last switch is an on / off switch. The switches are touch sensitive, no real pressure is needed. The power transformer (or brick if you call it that) plugs into the wall and there is the ability to charge 1 USB device by plugging it into the same transformer along with the light or since the light cord ends in a USB plug, you could unplug the light and charge 2 USB devices. Yes the light would be off, it isn't a magic light it must be plugged into a source of electricity to turn on. You receive: nice box and packaging, an instruction booklet, the lamp part, the cord, the transformer (wall wart). The lamp works perfectly fine, I am using it next to my computer on my desk. It is very adjustable with it's two hinges. The lower hinge rotates 90 degrees. The upper hinge rotates 180 degrees. There are 14 L.E.D.s behind a white plastic diffuser. For my son who does school work at his desk, I bought him a higher wattage lamp. That means it is brighter. This lamp is sufficiently bright for a general purpose desk light. It also costs 3/4 of the price I spent on my sons light. Considering that every manufacturer has an occasional lemon and that the manufacturer contacted me several times to work out a solution. And since the replacement light works perfectly for what it is designed and stated to be able to do. I feel that it is only right to change my rating to a 5. I feel that is the right honest rating considering everything. I set a calendar reminder, I will try to update in 6 months.

Five Stars
I've had it for almost a year now and it's still working great! Incredibly useful settings (different light modes with levels of brightness). Perfect if you're a college student and need to be considerate of others in the room or if it's late at night and you don't want to be blinded by the brightness of the room light. Convenient especially if you have it near your bed so that you can simply switch the lamp off when you're about to fall asleep or you can even leave it on and sleep through it at it's lowest brightness setting. I'm quite wary of lights in my room while I sleep so it's great. For me, the fact that it's usb powered is a huge plus since I know I'll always have power (either through laptop or external battery pack). I've never personally moved the lamp around, but it has the potential to be used where one cannot find a power outlet which I find incredibly useful. It looks great on my desk and doesn't take up much space.

Good for homework or paperwork, not much else.
Lamp is nice and the three modes of light temperature is a nice feature. The lower temperature settings is much easier on the eyes. The lamp does not get that bright on the brightest setting. It gets bright enough to do homework or read a book, but does not cast enough light for tasks where a lot of light is needed. I bought this to tie flies (fly fishing) and it really does not give off enough light. The buttons on the lamp base are very hard to find in the dark. A raised bump would have been nice, but since the buttons are flush, good luck finding the buttons when turning on the lamp in the dark. The lamp overall seems to be built well, but the lack of light intensity and the button/switch layout takes away two stars for me.

Looks good, works fine, but the packaging is rather peculiar and interesting.
The lamp is fine, although the materials felt kinda cheap and the hinges feel fragile, but it does what it says. The interesting and peculiar part is actually the packaging. Everything on the packaging is in both simplified Chinese and English, and the Chinese characters go first! ! I know a lot of stuff is "made in China", but this packaging looks like it is ready to be EXPORTED to China!! What is even more unusual is that there is no contact information anywhere on the packaging, or on the warranty card. There's a bar code on sticker on the back, but it is apparently being cut-off by hand from a piece of paper and glued to the box. My suspicion is that this LED lamp was originally made for the mainland Chinese market by a Chinese manufacturer. Then Saicoo decided that it wants to import it, but the Chinese manufacturer was unwilling to produce a different packaging (or Saicoo didn't want to pay that price). So they simply wiped out all the information about the original manufacturer, and printed the saicoo logo on the lamp, then shiped it to the US. Well, anyways, as long as it works, I'm happy (although I could probably get it at a fraction of the price in China). I'm just being very curious about this unusual packaging.
