Good cup, secures well
Can't say too much about this cup only that it works as intended! The clamp holds the cup very secure. It doesn't budge once you screw it down tight (but not too tight!). I ordered the 8oz cup to use as my dog's food bowl (I previously bought a 32oz cup that hangs). Having both the clamp and hang-style cups, I must say that either one will work. However, I would advise against getting the large (48oz+) cup in the clamp-style version. That much weight with food or water in it may put a lot of tension on the welds of the clamp over time. Nonetheless, I'm impressed with this cup. Definitely worth purchasing.***12/26/12 Update: Still a great cup, however make sure you understand the different measuring systems and terminology. The "8oz" cup weighs 2.2oz by itself. If you fill up water to the brim, it actually occupies 10oz of volume (10 fluid ounces) and weighs 12.2oz total (10oz of it being water). No problem there, we're actually getting 10, not 8oz of space for water. However, with dog food, or any dry material, they normally don't weigh as much as the space they occupy. So, when I filled some dog food up to the brim, it only weighed 6.4oz total (4.2 of it was dog food). Granted, it may have taken up 8-10oz of space (volume), but it did not weigh 8oz and that's how you measure dry foods. Therefore, you're not actually getting 8oz of dog food in one flat scoop. More than likely, two scoops the 8oz cup will give you a "cup" of dog food. Just be mindful. Depending on how much your pet eats, you're better off buying the "16oz" cup if you want a "cup" (8oz+) of food/serving. It's also cheaper! That one should approximately weigh 4.4oz and give you 8.4oz of food and most likely 18-20oz (fluid ounces) of water.

stainless bowls are nice, 3-4 stars result of quality concerns with same type bowls from ProSelect/petedge, pending CS response
I honestly have liked the stainless steel hanging crate cups, until the 8 oz ones that I bought with the hangers(not these two with the clamp) started splitting for no reason through the rolled rim and down the side of the stainless bowl. This could be a serious issue with a possibility of my small dogs being injured by the very sharp edges if I continued to use the bowls. The ones that are defective are much less than a year old and are mostly used at dog shows, one or two weekends a month and the splits are not a result of abuse or rough treatment, so I have contacted petedge to see if they will honor the "lifetime warranty" as listed on thProSelect package/box. I have every confidence that they will stand behind their product and I will add an update with the outcome. I trust that they will continue the excellent customer service as they are a large source for all things dog.As far as the clamp attachment with this particular design, so far so good. My 7 pound Brussels Griffon has not yet figured out a way to get this one sideways like he could with just the hooks with the previous design. He likes to tip the bowl sideways from the ones with the hanging hooks and spill his water on the bedding in the front of his crate. Very funny, little man!! This design has so far prevented him from playing his tricks and having me do that much more dog laundry. So I am happy!Update to follow about the splits in the bowls purchased previously.

Super fast delivery
I thought the product would be a little heavier duty; but it’s better than what I had before. Will review again after I have used it more. Delivery was super fast and arrived in great condition!

Very good bowl for the crate
These bowls are really good. I purchased 2 of them for our crates and use them only for food. I don't think they would be the greatest for water since they can pop up fairly easily. I am sure that my active dogs would spill water all over if I were to use them in that manner. The 4 star review is due to an issue with the wingnuts and posts. With 2 bowls, I had 4 connections consisting of a post and wingnut. The post is secured into the backplate of the wire structure that holds the bowl. They are flat and painted. For 3 of the 4, everything went together as expected. The 4th post was a different story. While I was working the wingnut off of the post it became difficult to unscrew. I applied more pressure and the post began to turn on the backplate. This allowed the post to spin which wouldn't allow me to unscrew the wingnut. I had to use vise grips to grab the post and then unscrew the wingnut. Once it was off, the post would spin as I put it back on to tighten the bowl to the crate. I was able to get it fairly tight by holding the post with the vise grips and then moving the vise grips to the end of the post to get the wingnut in tighter. This is a minor flaw that should be addressed by the manufacturer. Other than that issue, this would have gotten 5 stars.

Not for heavy chewers!
My dog likes to chew everything. She managed to get the metal bowl off the holder, chew the paint off it, then proceeded to bend the part that holds it to the cage.

Not as Advertised and Not Sturdy
The photos in the product description show two bolts for fastening this to the crate but they actually only come with one bolt. The metal plates that are supposed to go on either side of the crate to secure it are not flat - they bow out - making it impossible to tighten properly.I tried them for a week and the bolts were constantly coming loose and the bowls would tip over making a mess in the crate.Maybe they work well for a gentle dog but they are not puppy proof, that is for sure.I do not recommend this product. It is poorly made and falsely advertised.

Poor quality
This bowl is great in theory but the single bolt that attaches it to the cage allows the dog to easily spin the bowl upside down so I added two additional screws to prevent it from spinning. The next issue that arose was that the ring was only attached to the bracket by two tiny spot welds which broke under the weight of the water after a couple weeks of use. Overall I would not recommend this bowl unless you plan on modifying it yourself.

Perfect for Large Dogs!
I looked around for a good way to have water on hand for my Rottweiler while she's in her cage. The bottles were all too small and putting the bowl in her cage it'd get knocked around and collect her fur. This one attaches nice and easily to the side, doesn't budge. I can easily take the bowl out of the holder to clean and refill and it's at the perfect height in the cage it's not getting beaten up on. Might need order another one for food when we travel. Much thanks! ♥

Made of very cheap material that doesn't last...
Made of very cheap material that doesn't last...I bought 6 of those and 2 of them broke during the first week of use and 1 arrived broken in the box. They all broke where the circular welding meets the plate. I have small pomeranians and chihuahuas and got the big 26 onces and they didn't even last a week that big with very small dogs...Imagine using them with big dogs now. Don't waste your money get something made stronger.

Works well even on a plastic pen.
I use this bowl on a plastic sided containment pen. It mounts well and is sturdy enough that my growing 20 lb pup hasn't snapped it off yet despite standing on it with his front paws occasionally. I use the bowl for water and in 4 wks haven't had a flood yet. However a few times my pup's come close to popping it out of it's mounting ring while playing under it. Guess it's only a matter of time but so far so good. * Update Oct 6/15. *Now my pup is closer to 30 lbs the thin metal mounting bracket gets bent when he stands on it with his front feet.Others have experienced the mounting bracket bending, possibly through over tightening or perhaps like my experience their dog can put to much pressure on it.So the overly thin mounting bracket appears to be a weakness in this product. I solved it for now by using a large metal washer between the outer bracket and the wing nut but have a feeling as my pup grows I will need to buy a sturdier dish.Recommended.
